N?? (Ncon) is a country-wide school musical competition which started in 1932.
Every year, selected artists compose a song based on a given theme and schools across the country compete to make the best performance out of it.
Among the most familiar songs are “YELL” from Ikimonogakari which was selected for the primary schools category in 2009 and Angela Aki’s “Tegami” on 2008.
This year’s song was “Akashi” by Flumpool. The arrangement was made by a recognized classical composer.
The theme choosen for next year’s contest is “Light” and YUI has been selected to compose the song for middle schools category!
