It's a FILM. But, there will a be a TV drama series (of the same name and story) that will be released after the film in July.

I picked up my copy of the "Making of" DVD a couple days at Tower Records in Shibuya. Haven't watched the DVD yet, but I've seen the movie. :)

just watched the "Making Of Taiyou No Uta" dvd. decided to borrow it first at Tsutaya (it's a famous chain of CD & dvd rental shops here in Japan), rather than buy the dvd. since cds & dvds are really expensive here in japan, i usually rent the cds & copy them to my iTunes/iPod library. the olny cds i've bought so far are only Yui's :D

ok (went off topic for a moment there!), one thing i noticed from the "Making Of Taiyou No Uta" dvd, it also includes excerpts of Yui's diary, about her thoughts and experiences during the filming of the movie. My nihongo is still very limited, so I only understood bits and parts of it. but pretty interesting to read what's on Yui's mind

in this dvd, u can see Yui being more open and talkative behind the scenes, a contrast to the reserved look she potrays during interviews. saying that though, during the interview segments of the dvd, Yui does her unique "hmm" (& sometimes "hait") after answering a question, which i think is kawaii to the max! :wub:

watching the "Making Of Taiyou No Uta" dvd has given me the appetite to watch the movie again! gotta go catch it b4 it stops screening :flyaway

p/s: so want to talk about the movie scenes in another thread, but i think the only one who has watched it is probably bluecat :( hey, wanna talk about the movie, man? we can put a "Spoiler Warning" on the title! :green

Have you seen the latest interviews that she's been in? Well actually, haha, I shouldn't be asking that cuz I'm sure you have. But she definitely looks at the person a lot now when they're talking to her, and when she talks to them. She's definitely matured and changed a lot in such a short time. I know she's still probably shy but I don't think it's anything like how she used to be.

I noticed that in past interviews (like around several months ago), she would talk extremely formally. But now, she talks more casually. It's definitely cuz she's more comfortable with doing these interviews now. I'm sure of it. ;)

That would be cool to talk about the movie scenes in another thread. A Spoiler Warning will be good. I'll make a thread like that in this "ALL ABOUT TAIYOU NO UTA" Section. :)

I love the movie. Right after I saw it in theaters(Was in japan last month) I bought the making and the pamphlet. The DVD is great. If you can't understand, its still great, you get to look at YUI for like 45 mins heh.
Her interviews are great, evertime she finishes her sentence, she ends it with a Mm, like agreeing with herself. Its a great buy ^_^
