Title: "Taiyo no uta" VS "Death Note"
mono - May 16, 2006 11:20 AM (GMT)
"Taiyo no uta" and "Death Note" will be released on the same date 17/6
If you can only choose one to see, which one would you choose?
For me,certainly "Taiyo no uta".
Because I think the whole story of "Death Note"(film) will be almost the same as the manga.
gilek - May 16, 2006 11:42 AM (GMT)
I'll choose Taiyo no uta definitely, cause I want to see YUI acting, but I would also love to see that death note even though I'm not familiar with it.
AditZ - May 16, 2006 01:50 PM (GMT)
Ugh! A hard choice for me. Both are worth waiting for........YUI for Taiyou no Uta, and a great story from Death Note......
I won't choose........................
br4d137 - May 16, 2006 02:22 PM (GMT)
ill watch taiyou no uta first then after that sneak over to death note ^_^
...kill 2 birds with one stone!!
Fanny - May 16, 2006 02:52 PM (GMT)
it will be taiyou no uta because I have finished the Death note manga :D
ZiN - May 16, 2006 05:23 PM (GMT)
It's really a tough choice to make... Let me see... Urgh... headache~! :P
I won't choose too like Aditz... indecisive...
blue cat - May 16, 2006 10:53 PM (GMT)
"Taiyou no Uta". Without a doubt. No question.

LoL
you ignore that 'if only' condition ^^
This is forum about YUI, so I doubt anyone here would vote for Death Note...
br4d137 - May 17, 2006 03:45 AM (GMT)
BUT DEATHNOTE IS SOOOO GOOD!!! T_T!!!!
Y RAITO SAMA!!! Y DID U DIE!!! T_T

DON'T REMIND ME!
But I won't choose! Nyah! I can't. They're both worth watching. But I'm gonna cry, I wish someone would sub these movies. I think Death Note will be subbed quickly. o.o;;
mono - May 17, 2006 07:58 AM (GMT)
I set this question because I want to know if "Taiyo no uta" can win "Death Note" in the box office in Japan.
You know, not many people can afford to watch two films at the same time.
The two films release in the same period may have a negative effect on either one's box office...
I hope "Taiyo no uta" can defeat "Death Note" (though I also love the story of "Death Note")
blue cat - May 17, 2006 11:27 AM (GMT)
As badly as I want to see "Taiyou no Uta" and as much as I love the "Death Note" manga, I'm rooting for "Taiyou no Uta". Not just for YUI's sake but also cuz it looks to be a great love story film in the style of "Sekachuu" and "Ima, ai ni yukimasu" (two Japanese drama films that I absolutely love)!!
Elena - May 17, 2006 06:51 PM (GMT)
If I have could, I would have seen "Taiyou no Uta", of course!!!!

holy crap... thats very true....... man...
unlike american movies this can really effect the outcome of the movie sales...
...sadly even though i want taiyou no uta to win... i think the death note movie might get more viewers...
i mean... even if we get everyone on the forum to watch YUIs movie we are only going to fill up 4 to 5 theater
ZiN - May 18, 2006 01:31 AM (GMT)
Sad to say but I think most probably Death Note will win in the Japan movie chart... Consider the amount of anime/manga fans out there in Japan... Sigh...
blue cat - May 18, 2006 01:50 AM (GMT)
As much as I don't want it too, I think it's a bit alright if the "Death Note" movie beats "Taiyou no Uta" at the box-office.
What's more important is which one of the two will be the better film, which one will remain in theaters longer, AND which one will be remembered as an overall GREAT movie!!! :)

Lol. Its alright, I kinda had a feeling he might die at the end of the series.
Cardcaptor Stacey - May 20, 2006 07:45 PM (GMT)
Death Note, because I really like Tatsuya Fujiwara :lalala - haven't read the manga, but I haven't forgotten about it, Aditz! Will be buying hoping next week or the week after :P
*sees poll results and runs away* :bash
blue cat - May 25, 2006 01:34 PM (GMT)
I been a fan of the "Death Note" manga ever since the first issue appeared in Weekly Shounen Jump, but after a while I kind of fell out of the loop since I was so busy with other things (and didn't have too much time to read manga). BUT, last weekend, I finally found time to finish up the series and wow... I'm even more excited to see the film now!! :D
I look forward to seeing both the "Death Note" movie and "Taiyou no Uta" on the same day (or on the weekend of its release) at the theater in Tokyo (in June). I'll make it a double feature!! SWEET!! :biggrin
lightknight49 - May 26, 2006 02:48 AM (GMT)
Yui look Pretty in Taiyo no uta and i Cant wait Till I watch It and Yui is cute and awesome

You are in Japan now or you will be there in June, blue cat?
I envy you :huhuhu
But I will be able to see "Death Note" this summer, as it will show in Hong Kong
Still look forward to hearing the news whether "Taiyou no Uta" will be on in Hong Kong
p.s.There is news about "Death Note" and "Taiyou no Uta" in Hong Kong newspaper today.

Awesome! What a coincidence!!
mono - May 26, 2006 06:15 AM (GMT)
Actually not a coincidence, they are put in the same piece of news
The news is talking about the same thing as this topic -->"Taiyou no Uta" VS "Death Note"
It predicts that "Death Note" will be a big hit, so "Taiyou no Uta" should put more effort on promotion so as to fight against "Death Note"
The news also mention YUI is on a promotion tour
The newspaper jokes that YUI has to fight against the DEATH both inside(about Kaoru) and outside(about "Death Note") the film

Whomever wrote that article in the newspaper, made a very clever joke... BUT, it's not funny. Quite insulting actually, esp. to people who really do suffer from the disease of XP...
Poking fun at death can NEVER a good thing, no matter what the context is.
mono - May 27, 2006 12:32 PM (GMT)
I don’t find it funny either.
The newspaper probably has no intent to joke on the ones with disease.
I just think the reporter is quite clever to relate the two.
In fact, I think all of us are fighting against the Death every second… No one knows when someone will die whatever they are healthy or not.
Just like the motto "Memento Mori"(that is remember you will die)....
homey - May 27, 2006 04:11 PM (GMT)
both of them are good movies to w8 but i vote for taiyo no uta since its more valuable than any other movies this year
mono - June 4, 2006 09:00 AM (GMT)

"Taiyo no Uta" will show in Hong Kong too!

THAT'S AWESOME!!! GREAT NEWS for YUI fans who live in Hong Kong!! :)
Although, I'm not from HK (another hint for anyone pondering my real identity, hehe) it is still nice to know that the film will be shown in other countries!! :)
blue cat - June 19, 2006 09:49 AM (GMT)
I saw "Taiyou no Uta" last Saturday (opening day), and I'm gonna see the "Death Note" film tomorrow. :)
Riyu October3 - June 19, 2006 10:13 AM (GMT)
TAIYOU NO UTA OF DEFINENTLY :D :D .I want to see YUI act you know :D :D .
WHAT is Death Note   ??Dont know that movie.
mono - June 19, 2006 05:28 PM (GMT)
The producers expected that the box office of "Death Note" would be 10,000,000,000 yen and for "Taiyou no Uta" would be 2,000,000,000 yen.........
Jlo - June 20, 2006 01:25 AM (GMT)
Well, I would watch Death Note instead of Taiyou no Uta. Reason? Well, I would rather spend my money on something more interesting instead of watching YUI. (Instead I plan to buy the DVD set of Taiyou no Uta instead) and watch Death Note in a cinema if it even comes to my place...
