Title: drama series of "Taiyo no uta"
Description: not acted by YUI....

News about drama series "Taiyo no uta"

This is the news about TBS (a Japan TV station) will release a drama series of "Taiyonouta" in July.
"Taiyo no uta" is described as the final episode of the "pure love trilogy".(the other two are "Crying Out Love,In the Center of the World" and "Be with you")

It is a good news as the best box office film last year in Japan e.g. "Crying Out Love, In the Center of the World " also accompanied with drama series version.

Hope that "Taiyo no uta" can be as hit as "Crying Out Love, In the Center of the World " and "Be with you".
Besides,as both of the first two in the trilogy have been released in Hong Kong ,I guess "Taiyo no uta" will be released here too^^

jojo - May 15, 2006 04:23 AM (GMT)
Yeah the dorama is starting in July after Kurosagi, and I think it's going to be a hit because it's a great story, and besides in the role of Amane Kaoru will be performed by Sawajiri Erika, who did a great job in Ichi Littoru no Namida.

It would be great that YUI also act in this version of the story, but I like Sawajiri Erika in this role too^^

Same here, jojo. At first I was highly against a drama version of "Taiyou no Uta" but knowing that Erika Sawajiri is in it makes me excited!! I loved her performance in "Ichi Rittoru no Namida"!! I'm guessing that one of the reason she probably got the role was cuz (as terrible as it may sound) she's good and convincing enough in her acting to play a young girl with an ill-fated disease. ;)

Aside from Erika Sawajiri, I'm excited about Takayuki Yamada replacing Takashi Tsukamoto's character. I'm sure Takayuki will do a great job acting since he was in both the "Sekachuu" drama series and in the movie version of "Densha Otoko".

Thanks for the info, mono!!! It's really interesting that "Taiyou no Uta" is being described by the Japanese media as the final chapter in the "Pure Love Trilogy". It's awesome actually cuz both "Sekachuu" and "Ima, ai ni yukimasu" some of my all-time favorite movies!! And, both of those films were turned into successful drama series as well.

Does "Ichi Rittoru no Namida" mean "1 litre of tears"?
I haven't watched it but I have heard someone joke that if you watch it you will probably flow 1 litre of tears :huhuhu :huhuhu XD Is it true??

Does Erika Sawajiri sing well?If not, it would make the drama series less interesting.

Yep. The English translated title of "Ichi Rittoru no Namida" is in fact "1 Litre of Tears".

And it's totally true. If you watch it, you will cry 1 litre of tears, if not 2 or 3 litre of tears!! I'm a guy and I never ever cried when watching a movie or TV series before, until I saw this drama. It was soooooooooo sad, but extremely beautiful and touching. I highly recommend the drama series to anyone and everyone. :)

I have no idea if Erika Sawajiri sings well. Let's hope she does. :D

You can buy it, but it won't have English subs; at least to my knowledge. But, you can download all 11 episodes of "Ichi Rittoru no Namida" at JPOPSUKI Tracker. Here's the link:

JPOPSUKI - 1 Litre of Tears

If you don't have an account with them, just sign up and make an account. It's free!! Hope that helps, B4dm1n7on. :)

Fo sho, thanks a lot. I'm looking foward to watching it.

So if Erika Sawajiri doesn't sing well,I suggest YUI sing 'behind-the-scenes'

Maybe the theme song of the drama written and/or sung by YUI?

As much as I would like "Good-bye days" to be the theme song for the drama series, and as much as I'd wish YUI did the theme song, I highly doubt she will. I'm sure it's going to be a different artist.

We'll see... ;)

I guess I really am that much of a mystery to many people in this forum afterall!!

Without being pretentious or prideful in any way, I can definitely say that I know a lot about a lot of things. I try to always be up-to-date with everything that I like and love. :)

Well if the theme song isn't by YUI, then it should be interesting nonetheless to see who does sing it.

bluecat does know a lot...you should be our teacher.

1 Litre of Tears is a great drama series. recommend it to ANYONE. after watching it i feel so.. thankful that im so healthy > <. fantastic drama. i've just started reading aya's diary (chinese version). the drama itself is actually based on true story, based on aya's diary.. i was wondering if any publisher carried an english version... but i doubt so > <.

it's pretty funny. that sawajiri erika's taking the role for taiyou no uta. as her character also has some sort of sickness.... haha. she does it pretty well, as blue-cat sempai said so~ she actually.. lets you believe that she's sick. good acting~ i hope YUI makes more music for the series. i wonder how sawajiri erika will sing tho. dont think she sings.. ? i dunno. hahaa

I found the downloads but they're all RAW! I did managed to find Sekachuu with eng subtitles! ^^ Thanks to you, blue cat, I'm getting hooked on dramas! I wish I could find more. There should be a section where we can talk about dramas.

I'm just at episode 10 of Ichi Rittoru no Namida and... Let's just say that I've never cried so much just watching something. XD And I thought I cried a lot at Cruel Intentions.

I've only finished watching the second episode of litre of tears.... I'm too scared to watch on T-T I'm not scared of the drama.... but I'm scared I'll cry in front of my room mates... they're not ones for drama, or crying.

Soreiru - May 19, 2006 11:26 PM (GMT)
I just finished watching the last episode a few minutes ago and let's just say... T_T Oh God... It was... very... very... sad... I -did- cry 1 litre of tears. Perhaps more!

BTW, Soreiru, when you found "Sekachuu" with English subs, are you referring to the movie or the drama series?
