Title: Wikipedia
Description: Help me with the YUI Wikipedia article!

Ifrit - April 29, 2006 06:57 AM (GMT)
Hello, I just registered to this forum, following the link that someone put under "External links - Fansites" in the YUI Wikipedia article. I am the one who wrote most of it, as when I started it it wasn't more than one small line and two links to YouTube movies...

Well, anyway, being a big fan of YUI myself, I always want to learn more about her. I have tried my best to flesh out the article myself, finding the biographical information on Sony Music Japan's English site, trivia translated from her official Japanese site, and the chart info from searching profusely trough different Japanese album sales chart sites, and similar, on the web.

Anyway, to my point... YUI fans, to make a really great article I'll need your help! The information many people can gather is far more expansive than just what I can uncover myself in my spare time.

So, I beg of you to send me information about YUI! Either it is newsworthy information about her and her work, biographical snippets, or chart positions and information for her singles and album... Please send it to me as a PM here on the forums, or give me the information on my own Wikipedia user talk page.

Thanks in advance!
Ifrit.

Hello there! Its nice to see a wikipedia article there. You did very well in spreading YUI music.

About the information about YUI, we doubt that we can always PM you for the information, but you can always check out our news and discussion about YUI here freely. You can take our information there in your article, but please provide the credits for the news founder/translator (especially for blue cat & Gin) and our site.

And if you have more infomation about YUI, you can post them here and also with the source of the information. :)

And yeah, welcome! :)

Thanks for the welcome. :)

Now, it is Wikipedia's policy as an encyclopedic medium to only add encyclopedic, neutral information to the article, so I'm afraid I could not credit the "discoverers" of eventual news on the article itself... You see, the article isn't mine in that respect. All information on Wikipedia is copylefted, something that means noone has rights to it, anyone can take the article and use it as they need to, as long as they don't claim ownership of the text, images or the other content of the articles... also, Wikipedia articles cannot use copyrighted text or images if the copyright holder doesn't allow it (with the exception of "fair use" material, like CD covers, song lyrics, promotional images, posters, ect.)

But don't worry, I will credit the forum and it's users on the article's discussion page, or on my own user page if I make edits with information I have found here on the forum. Also, remember that anyone can edit wikipedia, even if you don't have a user account... So, if people feel like it, they can add the information to the article themselves, and I can come in later and work it as good as possible into the article. :)

I understand the situation and the risk within it. And thanx a lot for crediting the name of the news discoverer on the article's discussion page, or on ypur own user page if you make edits with information. :)

It is good that you're the creator of YUI wikipedia. ;)
