Just wondering, Are Kira kira and Gira gira the same?? Or is there any difference between them?? I think they both mean "sparkle or sparkling/shining".. I just want to clarify..thanks.. @@

yup you are right. both kira kira and gira gira means sparkling/ shinning. just that gira gira is more intense, or has a stronger feeling than kira kira.
usually to express a stronger feeling, "ten-ten" is used. (the two dots on top)
;)
hope this helps!

Kira kira is usually used for more beautiful and smaller things like jewels, stars, smiling eyes and girls in love.
Gira gira sounds more intense (like ketsuko said) and sometimes more discomfort. For example, midsummer sun, too bright lights, oily skins, and eyes staring at something or someone.
