DJ: Even at this time, your eyes are dazzling. Well, being young is really good!
YUI: Recently I have been making efforts to sleep early.
DJ: Sleeping early? What time is that?
YUI: Sleeping early... that would be 2am or so.
DJ: Eh? Wait wait wait... Say that again. We will cut the previous one.
YUI: Okay then.... sleeping late, that would be 2am.
DJ: Oh, sleeping late would mean 2am? So what if you sleep late? Hahaha.
YUI: Hahaha.
DJ: If you sleep at 2am on days you sleep early, then what time do you normally sleep??
YUI: Normally....
DJ: You mean there are times you pass that time?
YUI: Yes..
DJ: Then what are you doing till that time?
YUI: When I start writing songs and music, before I realize, it's 5am. Then, I think to myself 'Oh, it's 5am already again!'
DJ: Wow, cool! For me, I would be rolling fur balls from my carpet and before I know it, it's 2 am.
YUI: Er... I see...
DJ: Please say something! YUI is trying to make furballs now. Haha. Do you spend most of your time at home writing songs? Or do you do other things?
YUI: Well, I either stone, or write songs, or read books, or watch television.
DJ: Haha, stone??
YUI: Yeah, I think I stone around quite frequently.
DJ: Are there times when your friends come to you, calling you 'YUI, YUI', and you happen to be inattentive and not heard anything?
YUI:....
DJ: Oh the question was a bit too complicated, wasnt it? Haha.
YUI: Haha, oh but I have had similar experiences.
DJ: Dont tell me you are stoning right now!
YUI: Umm.. no! I'm thinking!

YUI: Rather than saying I stone, I am frequently asked by people, 'What are you looking at?'

YUI: I see a clock!

DJ: Haha... I see. There must be many fans who are around your age. This person, too, is from Fukui-ken. He has a question. Do you often go to karaoke to practise? He must really like you a lot.
YUI: Hmm.... Now I often play my guitar and sing, so I dont go often.
DJ: How about in the past?
YUI: Yes, when I was in elementary school or so...
DJ: Elementary?
YUI: Maybe not elementary, around middle school maybe?
DJ: You are not born in Heisei era, are you?
YUI: Well well...
DJ: Karaoke in elementary school? I dont think I had one when I was in elementary school!
YUI: (I was born in) year 62! Showa year 62! (1987)
DJ: I see. You have a great voice, and today, we are going to be able to listen to her live performance. There are many song requests for her to sing. Are there any songs which you think are pretty simple to perform? Or any songs you want to perform?
YUI: All of the songs are important to me, so...
DJ: So what song are you going to perform tonight? You have a guitar with you, and the weather is great outside.
YUI: That's right. Today I'd like to perform an indie song limited in Kyushu, called It's Happy Line.
DJ: Oh great! Hmmmm I was wondering where are you looking at. If I were your mother, I would have worried for you.
YUI: Oh.. I'm quite shy actually.
DJ: Hahaha. You're so cute! But when you sing, you really get into the song, right? All right, let's not waste time. Everyone in the studio, in front of the radio, is waiting for you. So let's listen to your live performance now.
YUI: Please listen to it like it's a street performance- It's Happy Line.

YUI: Why dye it black?
DJ: I will stop doing evil things too... How did you get ideas of such a song?
YUI: Hmm... there are many times where music just pops out in my head. And there are times where I am struggling to think of one, and times where I think beforehand what kind of song I want, and then set out to write it. Then someday, the music will just pop out because I have been thinking for it for very long. Normally, I start from the melody.
DJ: Does the music come into your head when you carry your guitar? It's better with your guitar?
YUI: I normally write music while strumming my guitar, but when I want a change of feeling, I will play the piano and stuff.
DJ: Your CD is good, but your live voice was really good. We'd like our audience to check out the song, and the CD as well. From now on, as a theme song for the movie, Hinokio, your song 'Tomorrow's Way' has been chosen.
YUI: Thank you.
DJ: It's been set to be released on 22 June. It's already done, isnt it?
YUI: Yes.
DJ: If not you'll be in trouble, right? Haha. It's June, right! Your future has been pretty much planned out, right?
YUI: Yes.

YUI: Talking about food I like... Actually I like all kinds of food.. I'm just glad that I have food to eat.... I thought about it recently, about what I like.. and it turned out to be Somen (Cold noodles)! Haha. It's very refreshing.
DJ: Somehow the atmosphere became more exciting towards the end with the topic about Somen. Haha. Somen can be eaten in all seasons, right? So everyone, keep your noodles till they turn yellow, they will become more delicious!
YUI: Yellow?
DJ: Yes, keep it for 2-3 years and... well this is getting out of point but.. it will become more delicious after 2-3 years!

Is stoning like vegetating? Like when you just sit and do nothing, like a vegetable? It's funny to hear her admit to stoning, since people think she's a busy and thought-filled person.

Oops, sorry I used a jargon 'stoning' in my translation.
Other synonyms of 'stoning' include 'staring into space', 'vegetating' (like you mentioned), 'rotting', 'slacking', 'not doing anything' etc.
