Title: some help regarding buying YUI merch online
raen - June 13, 2008 12:22 AM (GMT)
Hello everybody!
Im sure you're all very excited about SUMMER SONG. I too cant wait for it's release. It's gonna be awesome!!
Im here to ask for some help. You see, all the YUI cd's Ive gotten so far have been purchased over-the-counter. As in, I travelled all the way from New Zealand to HMV Singapore and cleared out all YUI merch.
Im not very comfortable with online shopping. I dont know why, but I just am. I was wondering if you guys out there who bought YUI-stuff online could give me helpful hints and which sites to get them from. Ive been researching yesasia. Because I dont think there's any other way for me to get SUMMER SONG limited ed unless through online purchase.
So if you could please help me out, that'd be awesome.
Thank you =)

hey raen!
yea i was skeptical at first about online shopping..but so many people do it including my friends who ebay like crazy so it should be okay as long as the websites you visit are credible/reliable.
at first i paid my friend who was going to japan to pick up all her singles for me haha...but now i just order online
but yes if ur talking jsut about YUI's CDs/DVD/Scorebooks:
yesasia
if you reach a certain amount ($) you get free shipping; sometimes it's slow in delivering the goods but heck it's free shipping...some people have had issues, i got a cracked CBML limited edition once but i was to lazy to bother with exchanging it and by that time i dont think there were any more copies left anyway...another thing
Yesasia does not count its sales into the oricon charts; which means your supporot won't really be 'recognized' ....
thing is, for some people Yesasia is actually the cheapest method of getting their goods as other sites have higher shipping costs (but this depends on your distance) ...as i am still a student...i order through yesasia...
for others...
hmv.co.jp HMV Japan
is another online website which for some is cheaper or almost the same with yesasia AND their sales goes into the oricon charts which recognizes YUI's sales...
i've purchased some YUI goods from here too and they're pretty good with shipping on time...however, the shipping costs were a bit heavy for me...i bought the ROCKIN ON JAPAN May 2006 issue from them and i paid almost 2-3x the original amount
other options
- play-asia.com : i haven't tried this yet but they managed to have YUI's Limited CHE.R.RY single in stock at one point after they were stopped but yea they're gone now..i should've bought it >_<
- make some friends and send the money to send back to you haha...well seems like some of our members here live in close proximity to each other so one person usually does a batch order and meets up and dishes the goods and collects the $
for YUI merch. like concert goods
- the only website i know that sells this is through j-friends hk. this is Hong Kong based company, they take the orders and they actually go out to the concert and line up for the concert goods and order what was requested
- i was sketchy about this at first but they were good.....i posted info about j-friends elsewhere with the help of mono on the forums here...
- shipping was a bit pricey according to some..but i thought it was alright..or maybe i was just to excited and didnt care LOL
...okay that's all i can think of at the moment!
baaah i feel silly for forgetting about my 500 yen coupon at cdjapan......and now it's gonna expire.. ;__;

i suggest cdjapan.com
ive always bought from them..
there might be a lower price with other ppl sometimes
but i trust cdjapan the most..
they also have a point system were u get like 1 point per 10 yen u buy... and each point can be redeemed for 1 yen... and u can use it every 100 yen
pretty good stuff..
plus the sales goes towards oricon charts..
so its also pretty koo

www.cdjapan.co.jp is pretty good too. I bought most YUI's cds from there :clap
One thing i hate is the shipping, it cost a lot, for me.

ah i totally forgot abuot cdjapan!
i had 500 yen off there..K I'M SWAPPING ORDER NOW haha

Wow thank you for the quick and helpful response everyone.
And yeap, delivery cost is a major issue for me. I mean, New Zealand is waaay down at the corner of the earth so the shipping cost is almost as much as the cd itself.
T_T
oh well... Im heading over to cdjapan now to take a look around eh.

=P yes i agree with you!!!!!!!
cdjapan.com is good
first you get the points which are really helpful cause
even little yen off is good..
and you get points everytime you purchase something
and on your birthday and when you do surveys.. 500yen is
quite a lot to take off...
so yeap.. i ust bought a TVXQ dvd yesterday using the 500+123 points... i manage to get at least 10-12singapore dollars off it (:

If you're looking to buy just one item at a time, so you'll only be purchasing summer song this time, I think play-asia.com is a good choice.
If you were to get it from yesasia, you will have to pay a ridiculous shipping fee for that item.
Well, here in Malaysia, play-asia offers free shipping, though the cd is a little more expensive than ordering from yesasia, it is still cheaper than ordering from yesasia. But I don't know if play-asia has free shipping to New Zeland.
In a nutshell :
If you order in bulk, go for yesasia.
If you only order when there's YUI stuff, like me, go for play-asia(if they provide free shipping to your country).
I also stopped ordering from yesasia after they sent me the wrong item TWICE.
=S

Play asia is the cheapest, but the service is so bad,,
I ordered Namidairo and for 1 month it hadnt been shipped yet, until I buy it on CDJapan,,
CD Japan is good and with it, you can help YUI's number of sales in Oricon,,But the price is quite expensive,,And CDJapan never sell books and other stuffs
Amazon Japan : you can increase YUI's sales in oricon too,but the SHIPPING is too EXPENSIVE!!
So i prefer HMV Japan or Yes asia,,
Yes asia is free,,,,,
And cheaper if you want to buy it one by one,,
But if you want buy many of YUI's stuffs,,,
Buy it @ HMV Jp!
Hehe :good
