Title: Grand Theft Auto 4
Description: Stealing cars never feel so good

Anyone played this game yet? I played it at my friend's place and it's amazing. Very realistic in many ways, including graphics and controls such as the car physics.

There are other many interesting things this time. One of which is that you can go have a drink at a bar and come out pissed drunk You character literally can't stand up straight and he lunges and falls. The screen sways and wobbles so you can't see straight. And you can get into a car for and some impaired driving.

I guess I shouldn't expect too many replies since it's suppose to be a "Mature" rating game and minors (which some of the members are) shouldn't be playing it.

Can't wait till I get my own PS3 in about a month and a half and play it myself at home. I still gotta finish GTA San Andreas and the two PSP ones.

I haven't played it, but I was watching Ryan's brother play it. The graphics does look really impressive. What's the rating for this game anyways? 18 and up? I played a very old version of this game before on the PC where everything is 'bird's eye' viewpoint.

Woo~ well, i'm 16 and i've played the older versions of GTA like Vice City or San Andreas but not this one lol. Saw my fren playing it the other day and it's very much more DESTRUCTIVE, if u know wat i mean lol.

Well, dunno when i'll own a PS3, hopefully soon, so that i can bring destruction to da game, hahaha!!

random : Natalie plays GTA, awesome.

i've finished GTA San Andreas! And if this GTA4 is like what it had been told, then i'm surely will play it! gotta persuade my parents to buy PS3 lol. :gboy

s0l1dsn8k3 - May 5, 2008 05:02 PM (GMT)
Nat, the game is rated Mature so technically you need to be 18+ to purchase the game.

The game is very well done. The detail level is amazing. And there's a cause-and-effect in some of the game's missions where the things you do will affect what comes later (e.g. dating or killing off a rival gang).

nataliejwong - May 5, 2008 07:53 PM (GMT)
Ah I see. Well, even though you need to be 18 +, I bet there are kids who will probably get an older friend to buy the game for them. *Shrugs*

You can go on dates in this game!? Whoow... does the character take the girl to a theatre to watch a movie then?

j.k
Haha, yeah, I played it because I have an older brother so basically I grew up playing video games with him until he got himself a girlfriend. Then he stopped playing video games. LOL.

s0l1dsn8k3 - May 5, 2008 08:37 PM (GMT)
Yes there's dating. You can take her out for a round of pool, a game of bowling, to drink. to watch comedy show, etc. don't remember the full list of things that you can do ... but that's already a lot more than what other games offer.

GTA is like the ultimate stress-reliever game ever to grace video games. You can do ALMOST anything in it. So if you just had a bad day at the office and need to blow off some steam, GTA is the game to do that. Imagine that whole bunch of people on the pavement represents your boss. You jack a car and then run them over. In the process, you get 1 police star flashing on the right of your screen... commit more crimes and the no. of police stars increases. Which means the cops will employ more drastic measures to catch your @ss. On top of it, you can choose to run or whip out your arsenal of firearms and stage your own battle.

NOW THAT'S STRESS RELIEVING! Coupled with the enhanced graphics that GTA 4 has, I need to get that PS3 very very soon... :P

j.k - May 7, 2008 03:50 PM (GMT)
TOTALLY AGREE WITH FANNY.

lol juz get more of those stars and u'll see the S.W.A.T team come shooting you.

see some guys you dun like on the streets, tap in the cheats and jig-saw them >.<'' omg, i soooo wanna play this game now....

@ Nat: i was playing GTA in front of my 20 year-old aunt last year,
and she says "boys are really boring. they haf nothing else to do in real life so they go kill ppl in game".
so i'm pretty surprised a girl would play such a violent game :sry

s0l1dsn8k3 - May 7, 2008 04:36 PM (GMT)
^ you have an aunt that's only 20 years old? I guess I shouldn't be surprised since I have a friend that is my age and has an aunt (by name through the relatives order) that is actually younger than us. Weird ... though my friend never met her in person before.

Whowww, you're aunt is younger than ME! x_x

Yeah, well I recently played a bit of Asassin's Creed/ARMY OF TWO on PS3.. LOL. That's because my boyfriend has a PS3, so I just join in... but I really really suck at these kind of video games.

I got this game a few days ago!! After waiting for it a couple of days since it was sold out.

And well what can I say about it, I think it's the "freedom" that makes it so much fun, you can just do anything you like.
I also played that "drunken part" that Snake talk about, it does literally affects your driving......

You have a lot of missions to choose from, but we all know that the most fun thing to do is.........enter the cheatcodes, put on armor, get the guns and vehicles and......it's showtime XD

A new option this time, which you haven't mentioned yet, is the online multiplayer!! I haven't played it yet, but I saw it in some preview videos.
Hmm, I guess I will be testing this out tomorrow.

s0l1dsn8k3 - May 8, 2008 02:38 AM (GMT)
Yeah I haven't tried the multiple part either. From the video reviews, it looks awesome too. I'll see if I have time to pay my friend another visit. =b

Right now I'm playing GTA San Andreas!... PS2!!! GTA series are ones of the best games ever!!!... for sure!!! GTA games are commonly rated "M" (Mature +17) or "AO" (Adults Only +18)

There's lots of controversy about these games!!!... specially about the shootings and the murders. What d'you think?

s0l1dsn8k3 - May 8, 2008 05:44 AM (GMT)
I don't encourage kids playing it ... especially those that are below 16. But I think it's all about educating the kids that this is just a virtual depiction of the world. It is in no way the equivalent of the real world.

Any real life shootings/murders getting tied to violent video games are total BS. I do admit that videos games can lead to an interest in that field/topic of the game (guns from shooting games, car racing from racing games) Normal kids/people with proper guidance growing up would not commit shootings/murders just because they can and have done so in video games.

j.k - May 8, 2008 06:24 AM (GMT)
well the prob about young aunts is that they are too young to be aunts. lol. my aunt is like my sister.

a game is no fun if u cant do anything u cant do in real life.
omg what am i saying. i mean, a game is fun becoz u can do things that u Cant do in real life. wats the point of playing a game if u can do stuffs in it in real life?

Shifty got it! Destroy everything!!

anyone here plays GTA without cheat codes?

Exactly!

I do! I didn't play any of the previous game right when it came out. So by the time I play them, there are plenty of guides out there. I usually pick up all the hidden packages (at least as much as I can), do all the stunt jumps, do all the mini games, do all the taxi/vigilante/firetrunk missions first. That why I'll have all the weapons and armor I'll ever need for the main missions. Then I drop the guides and do the main missions without any help (unless I'm really stuck, which hardly happens for me in GTA)

arnoldonicolas - May 9, 2008 12:48 AM (GMT)
I'm thinking exactly like you guys!!!! common' Destroy everything!! hehehe... Me too i'm playing without cheat codes!!! i always try to play all by myself... more fun! it's not the same if you know everything and have all stuff you need to win!!!

Have you play God of War or God of War II on PS2? or Heavenly Sword on PS3?... I love those games too!!!! specially God of War... classic!!!!

Shifty - May 11, 2008 02:12 PM (GMT)
I agree about the fact that games is a way for you to do things you can't do in real life. And also agree on the fact that kids aren't that stupid too associate games with real life. A game is a game.

Although I might say...if you have played GTA too long, the next moment you go outside on the streets, you do got the "GTA feel/urge".............I find myself paying more attention to spot a "fast car"............ :rolleye

Haha just joking....... :sry

Games/Virtual world won't become reality that easy, but on the other hand, reality can become virtual >>> In modern warfare, a lot of computers are being used, soldiers are literally using (game)controllers too control weapons....
Your enemy would just become a pixel/point on your screen...

But that's an other discussion...:P Offtopic...

I only use cheats if I want to play randomly, just to create chaos...
I don't use the cheats for the main missions...
Firstly, I don't like that, it would be like cheating...
And secondly I read that using cheats on GTA IV in the main missions will influence your further game development........
So whenever I use cheats to play randomly, I won't save it afterwards.
