March 31, 2006 - A teaser trailer for the long-awaited The Simpsons movie has arrived! The brief clip announcing the forthcoming flick is now playing in front of Fox's new CG-animated comedy Ice Age: The Meltdown. The preview is not online yet, but rest assured we'll have it here on IGN FilmForce as soon as it's available. Skip the next paragraph if you want to avoid reading a description.
According to a brief write-up in The Hollywood Reporter, the clip announces the movie's July 27, 2007 release date with a 25-second clip that opens with a giant "S" appearing on the screen... but this isn't Superman. "Leaping his way onto the silver screen," says a narrator, "the greatest hero in American history!" It's then that an underwear-clad Homer Simpson appears, sitting on his couch, and says, "I forgot what I was supposed to say." The narrator adds, "The Simpsons Movie,' coming to the screen, July 27, 2007." "Uh, oh," says Homer, "we better get started."
Fans have been anticipating the film based on the long-running animated series for years. The Simpsons, from Matt Groening and James L. Brooks, has been on the air since 1989.
Voice work on the movie has already commenced. The production is based out of Film Roman Studios in Burbank.

I don't know people...something worries me about the movie. A lot of movies based on TV shows or video games don't always do too well.

I saw it advertised in England when I went to see Ice Age... won't be seeing it though. Not a Simpsons fan. They should have done Futurama!

ROFLMAO!!!! THat reminds me of when I saw the thing on Ice Age 2 a few months ago!!!! XD MAN that was funny! Me and my cousins were like "Ooooo cool! Superman's gonna have a movie!! YAY!" and then you see Homer's face on screen and it's like _.............................o_o OOOOOOOOOOOOOH!!!!!" It was hilarious XD
I really wanna watch this movie too!
