Title: Jaded fans?
Description: Ever got tired of your idol?
asuna - April 27, 2008 10:03 AM (GMT)
I've experienced this all the time, and come to think of it I feel kinda guilty >.<
I remember my first obsession was S.H.E, bought every single album until 2002 or 2003, then it switched to Jay Chou and Mayday. In the process I totally dumped S.H.E aside and their albums began to collect dust.
Then I started listening to Japanese music and idolised Ayumi Hamasaki, which went on for quite some time before I broadened my interest which included DAI, Larc', X Japan, Mika Nakashima, Ajikan and finally YUI.
Some dropped out along the way (DAI, after they disbanded, X Japan and Larc', after I grew tired of Jrock), while I continued to support Ayu, albeit with lesser craze and obsession than before.
So my question is - Are you or will you ever get tired of YUI? Or any of the artists that you currently idolise? Are you afraid of that?
Its like love - its really intense at first, then it slowly dies out...
I know that someday, I'll probably throw aside Ayu and (gasp!) YUI. Who knows?

OMG! Another nice graphic! >w<
I've asked myself whether in 5 years I'll remember YUI, YL and everything else that has happened because of YUI (seriously...I never knew that YUI could change my life so much). She has made such a big impact on my life, and I don't think I'll ever forget any of the wonderful people I've met here since knowing her.
Perhaps in 10 years, I won't be such a fan of YUI anymore, but I'll always remember how much she has inspired me, and I'll remember how much I loved her and her music. I think it would be unrealistic to say that my tastes and everything will never change, because who knows?
I HOPE that I'll love YUI forever though...
I thought I'd love Avril Lavigne forever...but once she released Girlfriend, I threw her out. I also used to love Britney Spears...but that was years and years ago. Although, with these two, I wasn't as obsessed with them as I am with YUI now, so it'll take more than a few wrong choices for me to throw her out like that.

Once they were my musical idols (in high school), but now, I don't listen anymore to them.

well.. i experience them too... what i do is that i stop listening to them for quite a while and listen to some other songs... and then... later on, i find myself stumbling again to that artist.. XD
well... so far i've been a huge fan of arashi and right now, am not listening to any of their songs.. but later, i know i will. XDD
i did it to YUI too, actually... but here i am again, getting addicted. =]
cuz at some part of my life, i just can't seem to fit them in.. XD

umm for other singers. yes. an example: teppei from WaT. i still wentz though for some strange reasons haha. but i would forget about them, put the cds aside. But for YUI and other singers like Justin Lo, Jay Chou and really talented musicians. i can't. As long as they continues to make music, i would still be super fan. and yes, same as cherii, YUI changed my life a lot, inspired me to do things i never thought i'll do.
i love YUI now, and i still want to keep liking her when i'm in university, or when i'm working! and hopefully not as obsessed cause then i'll be going on YUI-lover everyday and not working! :P
