Title: BIG Guitar Competition!!!! ONLINE
Description: Help These Guys Win!!! Please!!!

hbdcrKevin - April 23, 2008 09:56 PM (GMT)
Hey, I don't know if this is allowed, but I'm doing it anyway....

My first discovery of YUI was on YouTube.
That's where I found Anas, and one thing leads to another and I ended up finding all of you here on YUI-Lover.

Well, I've found many other very talented people on YouTube as well, including these three guys. No, I don't know them, and they have no idea who I am, I'm just one of their subscribers. I'd like to see them get somewhere. I want to help them and I need you all to help me help them.

There's a competition for guitarists, "Guitar Idol," on this site:

http://gtridol.com/home

There are three levels of the competition, starting with online voters...that's where we need to help!

After that, a panel of industry experts judge and then the ten finalists compete live in London at the London International Music Show on June 14. The final winner gets to open for Joe Satriani on the 15th.

But the problem....the competition started over two weeks ago and these three just recently entered....so they are way behind in votes.

Here they are...

Cesar Huesca from Mexico City

Gustavo Guerra of Curitiba, Brazil

MattRach from somewhere in France.

Note that Matt is using a Squier for his backing guitar!

So when you're convinced these guys are really good, all you have to do is go to the contest main page here:

http://gtridol.com/home

Then just sign up, get the confirmation email, log in (create a permanent password), and vote.

Yes, you can vote for all three, but only once each. That means we can't spam vote, so I need as many of you as I can get to help on this.

Thanks for your help.

PS
You also should subscribe to their channels. They do some amazing stuff. GGuerra has tutorials on his page.

UPDATE: GGuerra has moved up to ninth, MattRach has moved to third, and Cesar Huesca has made it to second....keep going!!!

UPDATE: GGuerra has moved to fourth, MattRach still third, and Cesar Huesca still second, but the vote totals are moving up FAST!!! I think they will be 1-2-3 within 2-3 more days....too cool.

I'm rather certain the judges will see it the same way!!!
Now I wish I could go to London to watch them compete!

UPDATE: MattRach has moved into second place and is less than 100 votes from the lead!!! Cesar Huesca is now in third but gaining votes faster than the guy in first, and GGuerra is also still in fourth but gaining votes the fastest right now. I still think they will end up 1-2-3 before this thing is over.

UPDATE: MattRach has moved into first place!!! Cesar Huesca is only 167 votes from second and GGuerra is only 288 votes from second.

My prediction is MattRach wins the popularity vote online and GGuerra wins the competition.

UPDATE: In spite of MattRach's giant subscriber base on YouTube, GGuerra has caught and passed him. GGuerra is now first, MattRach is now second and Cesar Huesca has closed the gap to get to third to only 51 votes. So it's still on pace for a 1-2-3 online vote finish, though not in the order I expected. I still think the judges will make GGuerra the winner.

voted for Mattrach.. i watched his version of Canon in D Minor on youtube before and i think he's really talented..

Yes, I really like what MattRach creates.

I think that technically there is no one else in the contest even close to the skill and knowledge of Gustavo Guerra. If I was a recording artist looking for a studio guitarist to play intense leads for me he would be my first choice.

But I think MattRach's feel for music will eventually make him the most successful in the long run. If I were a record producer looking to sign a new solo guitarist that creates his own music I would sign Matt.

Anyway....

UPDATE: MattRach has powered his way back into first place. He and GGuerra are leaving everybody else in the dust. Also, Cesar Huesca has finally gotten past this Feener guy, so my three favorites are finally 1-2-3.

:clap
