For those who remember that they went on the 2ND SG YUI LOVER outing (which happened way back in Dec 2006 - when we watched Death Note 2), you might have vaguely recalled that I volunteered to do our SGYL shirt but haven't heard from me for nearly 2 years...

So, (aside from the WALAU EH NOW THEN U DO remarks XD), I decided to get to work last night after seeing some comments made on our outing thread about making a shirt... without further ado, below is my first concept..



the words as u can see, are all titles of the songs YUI has released over her career (that includes her newest songs in I LOVED YESTERDAY)

this is only a first concept, but pls feel free to leave comments and suggestions that u might have. thanks!

like i said, its only a concept. i'll be coming up with new designs and such. but thanks for the feedback.. in certain ways, it is plain.

I like the design.
Can improve on the font of SGYL.
Maybe add a dash? SG-YL?
Maybe add an abstract figure of YUI?
I don't like pink... it's not unisex...

more colours for the difference with the text and back ground will be good

the colour of the design should be more discrete. meaning to say e.g. uses only 3 colours: red, white, brown.. if not the printing also dunnoe how..

and then also... surely YUI will come out with new songs de isnt it?.. like it will show how long this shirt was printed.

Ohh cool.. Not a bad idea Fanny. Here are my suggestions:

1. Purple is fine for me but guys might not like it?
2. Can we use a Tele or something instead of a Squier? XD
3. SGYL could become SG YL (with a space in between)
4. I think all the titles are too cluttered, and when she has more songs, our tee will become 'out-dated'. Or maybe each shirt could have one title on the sleeve and everyone chooses what title they like on their own shirt?
5. I dunno what the white parts are, they remind me of snowman. haha.

In any case, looking forward to more concepts!

uchihamel: its pink, not purple haha. also, what u suggested for one title per person for his/her shirt is interesting.

helixius: actually pink is unisex, guys look good in light pink.. not hot pink cos then it will really look awkward! XD

If you formed all the song names into the shape of the telecaster, that might look pretty cool too. Hehe. It'll take a lot of work though.. ^-^"

Haha if you didnt mention it i wouldnt recall. Thanks for the hard work amidst your busy schedule. Like I always say I'm not a visual person so won't chip in any ideas but pink is a lil..... Yep..

I'll probably choose I remember you which is like damn old. And I thought swing'd like 'swing of lie' which is so ancient! But haha its a really good suggestion that actually got me excited!!

looks really cool to me though its only decorated by words and a squier e guitar...hm...maybe you can change the fonts of the words so it looks better? ><" anyway,its a great concept! :clap

Nice initial concept. I like the pink background and the use of the shapes in white. Use of pink exudes a feeling of calm and peace.



Some things that don't look quite right:

1. No Arial-looking font for "SGYL" definitely. =)

2. The combination of the solid telecaster, "SGYL" and song titles do not complement each other and look awkward.

3. Don't think a picture of a real telecaster is suitable, especially one with the brand/logo on it. Infringement of copyright? And such a big patch of solid printing usually will peel after some time.



Some ideas:

1. Use the song titles to form the shape of the telecaster (same idea as Natalie) or the outline of the telecaster. Use of different font face and font size for the song titles too.

2. To augment the above, "SG", "YL" can displayed as letterings on 2 separate guitar picks beside the telecaster. "SG" in white on a red pick. "YL" in red on a white pick. Sense of national identity without making it too obvious, right?

3. Join the song titles together in one continuous swirling line like the rolling eyes on this monkey: @@
Similar to the layout of the cardboard on IYL album cover.

Just the thought of it... but i recommend of having YUI face or whatever... LOL.. looks quite simple :D

ok, i did another design based on some of your ideas (notably uchihamel's and kaii's) and came up with this...


(note: apologies that guitar shaped thingy not high resolution.. still trying to search for one.)

the titles are now YUI's singles and albums. Changed the font for SG YL also.

i did this leaning towards a GUYS shirt. sorry girls, but didnt have much time to come up with a colour theme for you (maybe suggest your preferable colours for your shirt and i will slot in 2 designs next time round ;D )

also, i did up a 'font board' with different fonts for SGYL.. here it is...

Fanny, I think your first design is much better.
I think you should stick to one font for the names of the song, else it's confusing...
I think SGYL will look better if the colour of SG and YL is different.

Guys, i have finally been able to use the internet, and test out my ideas about the images. These are just thoughts though, feel free to give ur suggestion. I'm still working on the telecaster thing, i jsut reached home like 1 hr ago from guitar practice HAHA, having concert soon (: so dun ahve much time to use computer, so sorry. but here is something like a logo or what for YL SG.
