Title: YL subtitle team
Description: agree of disagree of this idea?

>ch|yo< - April 14, 2008 09:19 AM (GMT)
i was thinking of how YL too should have our own subtitle team to translate what YUI is trying to tell us and make fans understand and know her better...
of course only certain group of members are allowed to download subbed videos say...100 posts or more members? i hope you guys will try to consider this...*bows*

yoshiro - April 14, 2008 10:08 AM (GMT)
i think this is a very good idea!!!
it will help heaps of new people that arn't japanese!
ALL FOR IT!

XxcronoxX - April 14, 2008 11:08 AM (GMT)
sounds good :good

immortalized - April 14, 2008 02:26 PM (GMT)
:good

yupeh - April 14, 2008 02:29 PM (GMT)
I agree. It will help us understand YUI's thoughts better~

kairi1004 - April 14, 2008 02:29 PM (GMT)
as soon as I get more than 100 posts, sure I'll try to help with translation and subbing. lol

I don't think there're gonna be post limit to HELP out with the translations n stuff. In fact you're more than welcome to start anytime. =P

I think it's pretty obvious what everyone's reply would be(at least those that would not be singled out to help translate when the others decides to have a subbing group)...'It's a good idea'. Easy to say of course. Come up with some constructive suggestions at least. And those that can help out in any way should start volunteering then. List out the jobs, translators, proofers/qc-ers, timers, leechers...? What else? Will it be softsubs or will you need someone to encode and upload? What type of stuff do you want to be subbed. There's just too much right now so don't just say everything~ :hee

yupeh - April 14, 2008 03:34 PM (GMT)
Hm.. you're right Fujii!
I would like to volunteer to help! Seriously!

Manuel - April 14, 2008 04:05 PM (GMT)
I can help. I can be one of the timers and Spanish translator, because I would be proud if my Spanish translations were this team's.

BTW, I just use "Subtitle Workshop", which is really easy ^^ And I can introduce hard subs in short videos!

s0l1dsn8k3 - April 14, 2008 05:01 PM (GMT)
^ Aegisub is better, IMO.

shuzzack - April 14, 2008 05:57 PM (GMT)
:good :please

Manuel - April 14, 2008 06:45 PM (GMT)
@solidsnake: aegisub... I will try it. However, the program is not important at the time of... timing, is it?

Then, how many volunteers do we have by now?? And, what kind of videos should we sub? I think that the best way to know that is trying to know how much the members like a certain video.

yupeh - April 15, 2008 03:09 AM (GMT)
@solidsnake: really? Im using Subtitle workshop too. And its fairly easy too as Manuel said. XD

I think we should have a request thread or something~

>ch|yo<
this is a great idea..haha..just like the Korean sub teams..i nvr thought of this for YUI..

Panukeku - April 15, 2008 05:02 AM (GMT)
I definately say all go for it~ But Fujii- it has a lot of implications- like getting an actual SUBBING team (whom I'll love? x]) and making sure people are leechers. =/ I mean, it might mean a lot more spam in the forum because of the post limit thing...know what I mean?

But I still say it's an awesome idea, mainly because I really DO love YUI and I've wanted to known what she's been saying for ages now. If it doesn't come into fruition, I can be patient- because the core the love of YUI is still her music. <3

>ch|yo< - April 15, 2008 07:19 AM (GMT)
if you're afraid of people spamming just for the videos...
there's a way to prevent that...
but first things first...we gotta ask AditZ first..

KaiserKawaii - April 15, 2008 11:13 AM (GMT)
it's gonna be hard for that team though.... they also have their lives you know?

thunderhead - April 15, 2008 12:10 PM (GMT)
FABULOUS IDEA!!! i'm sure there will be a lot of work involved, but shouldn't take too much of their time, since most of YUI's clips are either live performances or short comments (i mean if u compare with dramas or movies)...

hahha..yeah your right...
maybe we only translate videos that are interesting or highly demanded?
we don't have to rush it or anything....
nothing comes for free.. so i guess the members that joins the subtitle team will have to be prepared to use their free time on this...
its all for YUI in the end...i think... :rolleye

yupeh - April 15, 2008 02:48 PM (GMT)
yeah! i agree.. but if this pursues.. we can't really pressure the subtitle team ne?
just like what kaiser said.. they have their own life too you know..
Hmm.. I would like to volunteer myself to help!
Well I think I can help in subtitling or timing I guess.. and a bit translating too because I have basic knowledge of the language too.
Anyways, are we only limited to videos?
you know.. we also need translations for magazines, etc.. though, some of the members already translates it hehe >,<
just a thought

the_alchemist - April 15, 2008 04:55 PM (GMT)
obviously almost all of the members here will say that it's a good idea..
and yes it's gonna be hard esp if there aren't many people want to volunteer in the team..
but if the team is finally created i think there should be some kind of reward or privilege granted to the team for their hard work.. cause you know there ain't no such thing as a free lunch.. but i still don't know what it should be..

Fujii_Itsuki - April 15, 2008 06:47 PM (GMT)
I don't think it's necessary to have a fixed team of people first before we start anything. We can do it the other way around. Like someone creates a thread to request something and maybe at least 10 other people wants it. Only then, those who are interested in picking up the project, sign up for the posts needed to get the job done. This way, no one is pressured into doing things they might not be interested in translating or working on. The only thing is I think there would be too many request threads so...it's all up to the whim of those that can translate basically. They'll have the choice to choose which they like the best/they can do. Quite fair if you ask me. So, no complaining if that's the case. ;)

That said, I guess it's fine to have a rough estimate of who's willing to help out here. For me, don't think I'm good enough to do whole translations yet, but I can understand the gist of most and I have experience with proofing manga scanlations so I don't mind helping the QC/proofing part plus some translating.

Manuel - April 15, 2008 07:45 PM (GMT)
OK, then we have timers, translators (though I don't know if it's enough with Yupeh and Fujii_Itsuki), then we need a corrector who would assure that everything is correct and a encoder. I don't think we need a RAW hunter, because they are posted in this forum. IT would be nice if the encoder could download/upload the files high-speed and a good computer to encode perfectly.

About the projects... We could open a thread so people could say what they would like to be translated and then we would choose.

Wari - April 16, 2008 05:11 AM (GMT)
It'll be nice if YUI LOCKS! was translated too :D Maybe sample how those KDrama or JDorama sub groups out there organize their subtitle teams and model it like them.

That's seems to be a good idea!!

mangomalte - May 4, 2008 04:06 PM (GMT)
i'm pretty busy being a member of two other subbing groups already, but for you who are timing (and typesetting and such), i really must say, like solid did before, that Aegisub is a lot easier to work with than Subtitle Workshop, and you can do a lot more stuff with it. :)

and, of course, i agree with this idea. ^_^ i guess the TYMT documentary subs could count as the first project? :P

i don't think i'll be helping out that much, but when i feel like subbing a YUI video (and have time for it) i'll pop in with what i've done and hope to get some help with what i can't do. ^_^

shinji_tono - May 24, 2008 12:11 PM (GMT)
thumbs up to that! best thing I've heard of so far!

let's pursue it guys!
