Ok guys, this sounds like a really big plunge so I'll just lay it all out and we'll figure it out along the way.


Japan Trip 2009

List of possible visit sites:
1) Tokyo
2) Ghibli Museum
3) Yokohama + Kamakura (Taiyou no Uta pilgrimage)
4) Kyoto castle and stuff
5) Fukuoka Tenji station if we get 7day rail pass and travel on the bullet train for free...

Here's a few travel possibilities. I've tried to get it on the different countries public holiday. I left out USA though... cos they have loads of holidays.

10 - 19 April 2009 (10 April is Good Friday)
31 July - 9 August 2009 (3rd August is August Civic Holiday for Canada, Bank holiday for Sydney and 9th August is Singapore's national Day).

Amazingly, USA doesn't have any holiday in August.

8 - 18 May (May 9th is Singapore's Vesak Day, May 18th is Victoria Day)

If it's May or August, there's a chance that YUI might have a concert. Anyway we'll see if it's possible to try and have the trip around the same time as YUI's concert and have someone get hold of some tix before hand.

The tix will be 1st priority. Once that's given an OK, then the rest of the trip will follow. If no tix, then anytime will be fine.

Hohh~ this is a big plan! Loved how yu checked for all the hols. good job! ^^ wragh i'd love to go, especially if there's gonna be a yui live.. probably won't be able to go, unless i win my haiku competition LOL

Quite an ambitious undertaking there, chap. I guess it's good to start a year ahead giving plenty of time to plan. Though a lot can change in one year.

we're hitting basically all teh cities the shinkansen hits. im doing a fukuoka pilgrimage LOL. yui's hometown. im bringing my guitar too hahaha so ill play in the spots our dear YUI played in hhahahaha. and street lives!! OMG IM SO EXCITED . we're like planning already... oh man japan is too awesome

Unfortunately I've only check the hols for Singapore, Australia, Canada and USA.

On the above listed time schedules, list of hols for the following countries:

Malaysia - None, only May 2nd (Buddha Day) is closest, but close isn't good enough.

Philippines - Good Friday, May 4th and August 30th.

France - Easter Monday and May 8th (1945 Victory Day)

So where are you from?

No official public holidays doesn't mean people can't take their own days off for the trip, right?

You can throw out any dates, and people who are interested will try to make it around those dates.

Yup, if that's the case then will have to wait for YUI's schedule for year 2009...

I stayed here last year, it's a nice place to stay, cute & clean.

For Tokyo, I recommend Sakura Hostel, this hostel has no check-in/out time limitation & curfew at all :good .

I'm gonna try Khaosan Tokyo this year, and I'll comment on this after I come back.
