Title: Easy hand-positioning ur left hand?

Cybergeron89 - March 9, 2008 08:37 PM (GMT)
So ive been playing guitar close to a month now, and the problem im always having is my hand position. Every time (almost), i get ringing, and not clear sound b/c my fingers keep touches another string, or not pluging in the right place. So i have to adjust to make it sound better. So, is there an easy way to make it CLEAR sound? or you just ahve to keep practice a lot on ur finger spotting (:what)

You just have to keep practicing and let yr hand do the muscle memory thingy :)

Keep practicing, over and over again, first slowly, then when you memorizes the position of your fingers, increases your speed..^^

as the others said, all u can do is only keep practicing. try to press nearer to the fret, u dun haf to use so much strength then.

and with practice MAKE SURE YOU HAVE REALLY SHORT FINGER NAILS!

holy smokeroos i just ended my six month guitarless streak and got really scared 'cause namidairo was sounding REALLY BAD on my guitar until i realized me nails were crazy long...

still...practice and practice and cut your fingernails

Hillshire is right!! CUT YUR NAILS. but only the left side! for yur right hand yu need longer nails to pluck, it sounds better. and cut+file yur right hand's nails so they're this shape:

^
/--\
/----\
/------\ , but of course not THAT straight ^^ and yur left hand's thumb positioning is important to get the most strength+accuracy out ^^ watch videos of pros to get a clearer view in mind
