What is it that you don't understand?

They tell you the chord name (on the top).
you can basically ignore the music notes (just above the lyrics).
below the lyrics is the strumming pattern.
below that is the fingering for the chord.

Im not really getting the strumming pattern as which 1 is going up or down? / to me looks like going down..errr?

hmm.. see if this helps.
It should help explain how to read the scores.

I don't know exactly how to explain when you're suppose to strum upwards... (and don't want to risk explaining it wrong)... so I'll let another forum member with more experience tackle that =D

man this song is hard T__T the strumming...arrggh

The strumming of the Verse is not hard at all. Some beginners though may find the Chorus to be a bit hard.

A simple exercise to help with strumming of particular songs would be repeat listening to the song and air strum with it. Listen to the Instrumental track if you're playing a single's title track. First pay attention to the speed and the beat of the song. Start swaying your hand to the beat only. Then focus on the guitar track and apply the same swaying hand speed and strum with the guitar sound.

Remember to keep the hand swaying up and down exactly the same speed and eventually you'll feel the beat and the strumming.

the two parts that you've indicated are both in the Intro of the song. They are for plucking with a pick. The two parts that you've circled means to strum through those strings.

For this one, you have your fingers doing the Cadd9 chord, then you pluck the 5th string, pluck the 4th string, then strum through 3rd, 2nd, and 1st strings, then pluck the 4th string again to complete the pattern. The wavy line of the strum part means a slow strum so you can hear the pick going through each string (sounds like dalala, instead of dlaa)

For This one, it is at the end of the Intro. The left-half of the part that you circle is the same as what I explained above, but this time, the strum through is for strings 5 to 1. the little curved bracket-like line in between is a musical notation call slur. It means the musical beat couting/duration is carried over and include the next beat/note. A simplified explanation would be play the strum and let it ring.

If you wanna play the acoustic version (live version YUI plays), you can follow this video as guide:

Ignore the singing part, yea that's me.

Remember to tune your guitar half-step down.
