well namidairo seems to be well publicized with the help of the dorama hopefully this will reflect in the sales.

its gonna be a hit or miss... if she hits.. i think she'll stay on top for a while...

but if she doesnt she'll probably be number 2

according to the charts, a lot of 40 something males (strange...) and boys at their teens are going to purchase Namidairo (indicated by the darker color bar), the lighter bar i think means interested in purchasing or like the song...

females obviously show less interest in the upcoming Namidairo single, according to the chart anyway...

NEWS is a hard competitor to beat.. especially that their new single is the OST of Kurosagi the Movie.

anyways, I expect her single to be either 1 or 2. No less. XD

and to the graph in the link (if I understand it correctly - the nihongo part)

the bright orange one indicates those that are willing to buy (or have intentions) of buying the single while the flesh-like one indicates those that are still in doubt.

as we can see (go to the link above ^), YUI's new single seems to have targeted the male division (specifically the extremes - the young ones and the older ones, there is no bright orange one on the young adults/adults indicating that they have no interest in the new single T_T)

this (I think) is expected and is a pretty good indication. This is because NEWS will target the young women so its nice to target the male since it will be less affected by the NEWS' single.

Dood.. a lot of 40 ? dood.. so.. that means.. there's a lot of old man and gramps that love YUI's music in Japan ? Cool !!

Interesting stuff. According to Wiki.theppn, LOVE & TRUTH sold about 87,000 copies first week and her two singles before that averaged 80,000.

NEWS on the other hand, their past two singles averaged 250,000! x.x! YUI would probably have to triple L&T's sales in order to compete with them =/.

EXILE is also releasing that day (Pure / You're my sunshine); their past three singles averaged ~93,000 first week, so I think YUI should have a fair chance at overtaking them. (I really hope she does - don't all of EXILE's songs kinda sound the same?? Is it just me??)

And there's also DREAMS COME TRUE, whose last single did 81,000 but their other recent singles had pretty low sales. Their new single (Mata ne) is the theme song for the new One Piece movie though; I wonder how that will affect their sales.

So then, my prediction for Namidairo is #2! Second week sales should be interesting too...

well if she's the only biggie then no problem getting the number 1 spot but there's NEWS as the other tight competitor for the spot. not to mention that there's still EXILE and DREAMS COME TRUE releasing theirs too. what I can say is that I don't like NEWS' new single that much. heard it already. in my opinion if it was something like Hoshi wo Mezashite then that's a whole new level of competition. it'd be really tight. but we don't know for sure. people there have different way of appreciating their music. more like different tastes. and they're really much of a fan power domination! shiranai yo!

well I just do hope for the best for YUI-san. I will not make any predictions for it because it's really unstable and unpredictable for me. but of course I do hope for her to get the number 1 spot.

^ i agree with you shinji! Taiyou no Namida (Its like Taiyou no uta and Namidairo combined lol) is not that stellar like Hoshi wo Mezashite and weeeek (I love weeeek). The PV actually bored me, except for the unexpected twist in the end. haha (see it for yourself)...
What worries me most is though the song is not that stellar, it will have a much larger promotion since it is used as the OST of Kurosagi the Movie... hmmm...

And Im wondering, why is it that YUI is not appearing in shows and doing live performance on TV, etc for Namidairo promotions?

She isn't even included in the list of guests next week on MS!
(guest includes Utada Hikaru, NEWS, FLOW, etc.)

I hope she would do many performance this week or early next week for the promotions of the single.

Yah! YUI should appear more often on TV to promote her stuff. But then again, her rare appearances make us treasure her more!
