hiyah guys...i need help...
My guitar's first 3 strings (EAD) rings...i mean they do this buzzing sound...
I already know this when i bought the guitar, but the salesman says it's juz lose strings, nothing bad. Then he tried my gig on an amp, and there's no buzzing sound projected through the amp. He said it'll be fine as long as there is no buzzing sound when i play wif the amp. I thought i'll be fine when i bought it at first becoz, you know, electric guitars are supposed to be played wif amps rite?
But now, it REALLY annoys me...i figured it'll be easier to practice without amp coz it's quieter (and i'm lazy...lol)... so the buzzing noise feels really annoying when i'm practicing...
I've already pressed as hard as i could, tuned the guitar, locked it hard, but it still rings... so izit as the salesman says, bad strings? what can i do to fix this? change a set of strings? @@
hopefully it would be as simple as changing the strings...
it might even be a bad neck... i have a guitar that the neck on it is warped
and the strings are to close to the fret... now no matter how many different strings i change i cant play below the 9th frets...
if its really bothering you i would take it back if possible...
a guitar is an investment and u shouldnt be pressured to buy just because the salesman tells u its okay...
if the difference in price from the one you have and one that doesnt have this problem is within 50 bucks of each other... make the extra few bucks to get something that will last...
It could be your nut/bridge too or your action (height of your strings from the fingerboard). My electric guitar used to buzz too when I play it, and it was due to the low action. Sometimes, the string doesn't sit properly in the nut could also cause the string buzzing.
As Brad suggested already, a warped neck is possible too, however it would be rare for electric guitars, unless you leave your guitar outside in the sun/extreme cold, bang it against an object while holding the neck or something, lol. Acoustic guitars would be more prone to weather damage because the wood is much thinner and lighter.
wouldnt all the strings ring if it's a warped neck? but in my case, only the 3 thickest string rings...my GBE strings are behaving quite well...
if its a warped neck...then i woulda be head banging.....i dun think i would play that often if i had to use an amp the whole time...
