Cybergeron89 - December 19, 2007 01:18 AM (GMT)

DJAffinity - December 19, 2007 05:29 PM (GMT)
Watch one litre of tears on cruchyroll, watch the special one after the series.

Taiyou No Uta Series version [nicer then the movie] >.<

At youtube, usually watch it at 3am [GMT +8] [singapore time] :sry :sry

cherii - December 20, 2007 05:29 AM (GMT)
*kills DJAffinity for not sharing the YUI love XD*

Depends what kind of drama you want to watch.

Here are some funny ones: Hana Kimi, Densha Otaku. I only remember so many titles...haha. I watched the first episode of Nodame Cantabile and it's pretty funny. Haha. (watching Japanese stuff @ school = <3)

I really don't know of many, but what DJAffinity said is good. I've watched both of them. I'm too lazy to post links.

Some great recent J-dramas that are more comedy than drama:

Hanayome to Papa (Ishihara Satomi)
Papa to Musume no Nanokakan (Aragaki Yui)

Hotaru no Hikari looks promising as well, though I haven't seen it (Ayase Haruka)

J-drama:
Tsubasa no Oreta Tenshitachi (various actresses)

Has anyone seen any of the Koi no Kara Sawagi (Love Stories) series?

cLam - December 20, 2007 06:25 AM (GMT)
Yeah, it really depends on what kind of dramas you're into.

- Hana Kimi - Comedy, school
- Hotaru no Hikari - Comedy
- Nodame Cantabile - Comedy, music

- Taiyou no uta (it was good... but I still like YUI more ^^) - music, drama
- One litre of tears - drama

- Nobuta wo Produce

- Proposal Daisakusen - Comedy, romance

- Liar Game
- Kurosagi
- Galileo (english subs aren't all out yet)

that's all I can think of at the moment.

Cybergeron89 - December 20, 2007 06:46 AM (GMT)
hm, well i guess i dotn really care? Just something that makes pass time go fast while im not work..:P probably comedy or action will do

natsumi - December 20, 2007 01:28 PM (GMT)

benzwong - December 20, 2007 02:56 PM (GMT)
I second Nobuta wo Produce and Liar Game! :clap

Have some great laughs with these
Gal Circle (Galcir) - Aragaki Yui, Erika Toda
Attention Please! - Ueto Aya

These are nice too
Tokyo Friends
Dragonzakura

If you don't mind movies, please do watch Tada, kimi wo aishiteru (Heavenly Forest) - Miyazaki Aoi. It's as good as YUI's Taiyou no Uta imo!

hitokirix - December 21, 2007 03:16 PM (GMT)
iryu team medical dragon ..
can watch it at veoh ..

Cybergeron89 - December 22, 2007 05:00 AM (GMT)
why all the vids from Crunchyroll is low quality?

Razgriz - December 24, 2007 03:13 AM (GMT)
I would definitely suggest "Orange Days." It has many touching moments topped with some drama and romance. I'm honestly not a huge Jdrama fan, or a live action drama fan in general, but Orange Days was definitely an exception and ended up becoming one of my favorite TV shows in general. Hope you like it as much as I do if you decide to check it out.

Ayamex4ever - December 24, 2007 01:17 PM (GMT)
Nobuta wo produce (really nice!)
Hana kimi
Kurosagi
Tantei Gakuen
Hana yori dango

Dlyan - December 25, 2007 09:08 AM (GMT)

I just watched it recently when my friend told me to watch it.
It is hilarious, I laughed till my liver almost came out.

May not be your type of show though.

Comedy / Romance

zuttodayo - December 31, 2007 11:25 AM (GMT)
hmm lets see... ive watched

14 sai no haha
Hanakimi
Hana yori Dango (1 and 2)
Hotaru no Hikari
Stand Up!
1 L no Namida
Tantei Gakuen Q
Kimi wa Petto
Nobuta wo Produce
LIFE

im probably missing a few lol... and ive watched a whole buncha movies

but yeah i would recommend LIFE, its neither a comedy or romance, its a darkish theme but a very positive feeling, well done, good acting, etc. its about a girl who's bullied but then fights back.

hotaru no hikari made me laugh too (AHOmiya!!), as did hanakimi (plus all the cute guys helped :suki ) Hana yori Dango is along the same lines

1L no Namida was very sad T_T. 14 sai no haha was sad at parts but positive.

Tantei Gakuen Q was i think quite good. mystery series with kid geniuses.

Stand Up! was cute, but not that exciting. but cute (because niyomiya was in it <3)

Kimi wa Petto and Nobuta wo Produce kind of let me down... people made such a big hype about them but i found it kind of drawn out. they were good none the less (obviously since i watched them all the way through lol)

*goes back to watching multiple doramas lol*

Dlyan - December 31, 2007 04:37 PM (GMT)
I've started Hana Kimi, it's remind me Ouran Host Club Anime :hee

I'll try LIFE in the same time

Icha_Chiss - December 31, 2007 07:21 PM (GMT)
What everyone recommended are all good dramas.. :good

Hana kimi is a romance/comedy i think :rolleye

:clap Try to watch it!

Manuel - January 1, 2008 04:40 PM (GMT)
The last one I've seen is Nodame Cantabile. It's about classic music, but it's surprisingly wonderful ^^ I reccomend it!!!!

Fandan - January 1, 2008 06:55 PM (GMT)
I can't seem to like Ueno Juri after seeing her as the handicapped little sister in Orange Days, but she was good in Tsubasa no Oreta Tenshitachi. I plan to start watching Nodame Cantabile next.

I couldn't get past the first episode of Stand Up! because it was so implausible that this group of 4 pretty boys were the last virgins in school. If it had been 4 likable geeks, that would have worked better.

I'll mention again that "Papa to Musume no Nanokakan" and "Hanayome to Papa" are both great and worth watching.

Anyone seen Abarenbo Mama?

mandypchan - January 4, 2008 05:07 PM (GMT)
I see you all list out Hana Kimi. Yep... That is the best and the funniest drama so far.
Oh wait! I suggest "My Boss, My Hero". Not the Korean one, but the Japanese version starring Tomoya Nagase. The heroin is Aragaki Yui. This drama is hilarrious :clap
Never tired watching it and is worth watching too.

Have you guys ever watch it yet? :sry

zuttodayo - January 5, 2008 10:42 AM (GMT)
Just watched another one ^_^

Proposal Daisakusen

It's more Drama/Romance, but it definitely has is comic moments! And it has a good message too <3.

the_alchemist - January 5, 2008 12:41 PM (GMT)
i recommend Nodame Cantabile..
it's a great drama with classical music as the theme.. i'm starting to love classical music after watching it..
and not forget to mention it's a very funny drama...

i've watched My Boss My Hero.. it's a pretty funny drama too..

Fandan - January 5, 2008 03:08 PM (GMT)
MBMH is great. I couldn't stand that Sakura-nantoka kid, he's a terrible actor. Nagase Tomoya and Aragaki Yui were great in this series.

I just finished Hotaru no Hikari, a very sweet and heart-warming comedy-drama. I used to think Ayase Haruka wasn't much of an actress, just a pretty face (and awesome body), but she impressed me in this drama. The supporting cast of office workers did a great job too. I loved the way Futatsugi talks.

Next for me is Nodame Cantabile.

Dlyan - January 5, 2008 08:02 PM (GMT)
don't watch Kurosagi it's very borring... :what

crazy_mantol - January 15, 2008 08:59 AM (GMT)
i watch quite a lot J drama and i think i can categorize my recommendation:

comedy:
hana kimi j version
My Boss My Hero
Nodame Cantabile
(this three dramas 4 me is in different league in term of its hilarious, it also has good storyline besides the comedy offered and it never failed to make me stop laughing although i watch it for many2 times :suki
densha otoko
Gokusen( it is funny but somehow it become quite boring because each episode are quite predictable

serious( not realy)
Nobuta O produce ( highly recommended-- have good theme song too)
Always Sanchōme no Yūhi (movie)
kurosagi ( yeah, it kinda boring because each episode is also quite predictable and not all people wil like it due to complexity of the swindling part)
proposal daisakusen
summer snow
Team Medical Dragon ( i almost forget this.. highly recommended for anyone loves to watch medical drama)

Sad
One litre of tears ( i dont watch it yet because i dont like this kind of drama but all my friend recommend it.. so i think it is quite good.)

haha, from the list maybe u can guest that i am quite bias to maki-chan.. yeah, i admit that but all the drama above is highly recommended and enjoyable to watch :good :good

anyway, for anyone who hate torrent (like me) and wish to have high quality of drama via direct link, just go to this site:

http://community.livejournal.com/jdramas ( u have to register first.. dont worry, it is free.. :good
all dramas available in this community is in direct link.. and mostly they used megaupload.. only until this i can help...enjoy yourself!!

*currently waiting for Nodame Cantabile SP subtitle..

Kippei - January 15, 2008 10:58 AM (GMT)
karei naru ichizoku shud be gud enuf :good

pandas who read this scare me - January 15, 2008 04:36 PM (GMT)
honey and clover has only just started but the anime was great. Although it doesn't follow it truthfully after the first episode it looks promising.

Nobu from the Nana movies is in it as Morita.
The womanising (cello player i think) from the rising s orchestra in nodame is Mayama.

Fandan - January 15, 2008 06:53 PM (GMT)
Honey and Clover the movie was excellent. Yuu Aoi did a great job as Hagu, and Sakurai Sho was likable as Takemoto. It will make it hard to watch the drama, just like YUI's TnU made it impossible for me to like Erika's drama.

noblesguild - January 16, 2008 05:16 PM (GMT)
if you havent seen Densha Otoko.. watch it ! ^_^

to everyone who have seen it already.. KITAAAAA ~~~ ^_^

hao-hao - January 23, 2008 10:35 AM (GMT)
I would recommend 1 litre of tears ...but be prepared because it is very sad ...based on true story ..i would'nt want to watch it again..so sad ..

tsunvun86 - January 23, 2008 01:14 PM (GMT)
Hana Kimi FTW~!!

Fandan - January 23, 2008 05:40 PM (GMT)
Nodame Cantabile is awesome. A great J-drama/comedy about classical musicians. The leads are so likable and the supporting cast is great. I like it almost as much as Orange Days. There's a great twist to the story and lots of funny and touching scenes. I never figured I'd like it so much, but I do.

Hana Kimi... ugh! I've watched through ep2. The scene how Sano gets hurt is so ridiculous. I don't like these types of school J-drama. Too much emphasis on cool pretty boys, with the prettiest one actually being a good guy with problems, you just have to get past his cool exterior crap. What's really bad is that none of these supposedly hot guys are even good looking, besides maybe Sano. It's kind of disturbing that Horikita Maki actually looks enough like a boy to pass as one.
