Title: Why didn't I think of this earlier?
Description: (asking my question here in YL)
cherii - December 18, 2007 01:56 PM (GMT)
Well, some of you may know that my guitar has gone all wonky and "bended". *ahem* Meep. I only asked my parents for another guitar recently (with the excuse of Christmas..hehe). Since YL is full of guitarist peoples, I want your opinions on what guitar I should get. This will be my second guitar, so yeah, nothing too expensive. Considering I want other things for Christmas too (greedy me), maybe around $200-300ish.
Oh crap, I forgot what else I was going to say.
GO!

Would that be $200-300 AUD? That's about $172-260 CAD. Hm, you'll be looking at basic acoustic brands like:
Yamaha
Cort
Aria
Ashton
Washburn...
...and see if you can find Art & Lutherie, Norman, Simon & Patrick
(Canadian brands, great starter guitar brands and quality is decent, however, I don't know if they're available in Australia but you can ask around).
You can probably buy those 'Guitar in a Kit' packages... they usually include a light gig bag, guitar picks, strap, tuner, maybe an extra pack of strings etc.
Of course, it always helps to bring along a guitar friend(s) to help give you advice or tips on which guitar would work for you.
The truth is.. as long as you get guitar you like and feel comfortable playing with.. that's the perfect guitar for you.

asuna - December 22, 2007 07:42 AM (GMT)

LOL. i really hope she sings that someday.
djwongtf - December 22, 2007 08:08 AM (GMT)
I'm in Melbourne, and I know u can get Yamaha, Cort, Fender acoustics for this price range..
Cort acoustics are pretty gud..
For electric gits, u get same brands as above but the Fender are obviously much more expensive..
But in general, guitars are way very expensive in Melbourne, dunno if it's same everywhere in Australia..
atheon - December 23, 2007 01:28 AM (GMT)
Jingle bells~!!
I only know the chorus LOL.
cherii - December 23, 2007 02:01 AM (GMT)
Hahah atheon, I can play Jingle bells on the keyboard. XD So easy..
Well I've been staring at the box where my guitar is inside of. >_< It's so pretty. Lol.
How about...I play a song and you sing along? Hehehe. =P
atheon - December 23, 2007 02:15 AM (GMT)
^ I think you sing better than me, haha.
cherii - December 23, 2007 09:03 AM (GMT)
you haven't heard me sing, so you don't know yet.
grr...my fingers are too tired to even play the 'C' chord. Only two more days! One of my siblings are going to take my old one. I'm still deciding on whether I'll tell them to be careful with it or not...lol.
RANDOM: Weird! I just did a half-sneeze and it sounded really strange. But then again, all my sneezes sound strange.
yukio - December 23, 2007 10:54 PM (GMT)
waitttt wt did u get?
and LOL Merry Christmas To You You hahahaha thats AWESOME she should so do that. get someone to suggest it to her i think its a great idea hahah
cherii - December 24, 2007 04:33 AM (GMT)
I got a Yamaha F310P. It was only $200 AUD, but it was a BIG price cut from $300 or so. (Christmas is goooooooood.)
yukio, you do that. =P
s0l1dsn8k3 - December 24, 2007 04:49 AM (GMT)
Really? Buying guitar in Aussie is really quite expensive. The F310 is only around $140.00 CAD here in Canada ... which exchange to roughly $160 AUD.
cherii - December 24, 2007 04:52 AM (GMT)
Yeah, I've heard that buying guitars over here compared to other countries is pretty expensive.
Oh well.
Should I follow the YL tradition and post up photos of my new guitar?

asuna - December 24, 2007 08:20 AM (GMT)
^ its a tradition? i havent done that yet =O
cherii - December 24, 2007 08:47 AM (GMT)
er, well not really a traditional tradition. BUT enough people have done it for it to be called a tradition, even though it's not an official tradition. i'll be happy if I've confused you.
atheon - December 24, 2007 10:51 AM (GMT)
^ someone is getting sarcastic-er after getting a new guitar.
=P
Post it post it~
With the title sounds something like this: Yay I got my new guitar which looks exactly like YUI's la la la~
Ok Maybe not.
cherii - December 24, 2007 11:07 AM (GMT)
Haha. I'm not even sure. Haven't gotten to see it yet, since it's still in the box. It'll continue to be confined in that box until tomorrow morning. >_< I'm so anxious!!
I hope it does look like YUI's. XD (you never know..)

cooliooz nice guitar. i always liked the way a yamaha looks, i prefer pickguardless and cutaway but out of all dreadnoughts without cutaways and with pickguard, i would only get a yamaha lol it has that classic, very playable look. and i love the yamaha design on their headstocks
cherii - January 10, 2008 10:51 AM (GMT)
