The games on the Wii...well, if you like adventure games (Including Platformer games) i would recommend: The Legend of Zelda: The Twilight Princess, or Metroid Prime 3: Corruption, and Super Paper Mario

Action games (fighting, shooters, etc.): Guilty Gear X2: Accentcore, (Maybe) battalion wars Wii or whatever it's called...SUPER SMASH BROTHERS BRAWL (Even though the game is not going to come out till next year...) =O ...there's more but i can't think anymore... :what

Puzzle games: Trauma Center: Second opinion (or the new sequel Trauma Center: New Blood never tried it yet though):good

...There's a LOT more I just don't know all of the game names... :what But! look up the game reviews at gamespot or IGN, and others...or look at the Nintendo Power Magazine for their reviews on the new games for the Wii

i was the first in line to get mine at walmart when i heard they were bringing in a new shipment at like midnight. this, mind you, was after going to/calling every store that sold them like everyday and asking if they were getting any in soon. i even saw the last two in kmart walk out right in front of me! =O but yeah, got mine in february i think it was.

but seriously, there is so much to do on there, like even besides the games. i know because i only have 2 games, haha. ive got wii sports (which came with it) and legend of zelda twilight princess which i got for Christmas last year (yeah, i'm cheap).

twilight princess was the main reason i wanted a wii, and it still keeps me entertained for hours every time i play it, even though ive beat it like a thousand times...im tellin you, using the wiimote as a sword is the best thing ever! i think theyre supposed to put out another wii zelda game at some point...definitely lookin forward to that!

but i have also played some of my brother's games, like mario galaxy. that one is fun! i'm hoping to get that for Christmas this year! ^_^ i cant wait till the new smash bros comes out! that looks stinkin awesome!

You're so lucky. In Toronto, it's impossible. Stores are like stocking up on Wiis until Christmas, so maybe that's why they're not selling it right now. It's so stupid. At least I have one now, so all is well.

Are you getting a modded Wii? My mom asked me if I wanted to get a modded one from HK, but if the Wii doesn't work for some reason, then that would be a pain. My friend got a modded Wii, 3 Wiimotes (w/ nunchuks), and 5 official free Wii games for only $3000 HKD back in July. That's such a great price. Maybe you can find deals like that when you go back in HK. :)

Yep! Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games is real fun! I can't wait till Mario Kart Wii comes out in February 2008! I gotta get that one. Is the Naruto game worth it? It looked alright in those YouTube videos. Mario Strikers Charged look like a decent game too. Hmm....

True story:
My bro had a Wii. He got it online at some warehouse site for like $200 USD. It came in the retail box and everything and there was nothing wrong with it. A couple of weeks later my brother ordered a mod chip and soldering equipment. He tried to install the mod chip but ended up f***ing up his Wii and now it's just sitting there collecting the never ending dusts of time.

Lesson of story:
External happiness can and will be taken away. Do yourselves a favor and don't misplace your happiness. (A tip from the guy with depression/behavior issues a.k.a. JAYL.)

Sorry to hear about the Wii result. Well, I wouldn't try to mod something on my own, and even if I had someone who knew how to do it, I'll need to have personal recommendations. My bro wants to mod the Wii, but I don't really want him to because of exactly what you wrote. But he keeps insisting that his friends all modded their Wii and they work fine. So it's 50/50 for me. :\

Either way, you lose or win. It's the risk you take, so I'll see how it turns out with my decision to mod the Wii or not.

oh man yea my frd has her Wii modified and she has like a huge stack of games...

i rarely have time to play on mine..but i suggest going on gamespot.com or IGN or whatever for their Game reviews .... a good deal and good game is Resident Evil 4.. although it's an older game and has be released on Gamecube/PS2 ...the game on the Wii system is fuuuun....it also had the highest rating for a Wii game a while ago not sure if it's been topped by another one right now

the moment i got my Wii i went all out with buying more accessories...i'm debating over to modify or not...cuz i barely have time to play...i enjoy sending msgs with my Miis to my friends though!

yea im probably getting a modded one. cuz then i could just dl my games and play games of all regions. i guess if it gets busted then it'll be a problem but none of the ppl i know of who modded their wii's have problems. least not yet lol.

To answer your Q Natalie, I don't have any spare money at the moment (or anytime in the near future..) for a Wii. However, with the release of Fire Emblem 10, I won't be able to live WITHOUT buying one. Fire Emblem ALONE will sell a console for me far before any other game. Of course, once I have a Wii I'll go crayz and get a bunch of other good games.

Point in case- I never bought a Cube b/c I was perfectly happy with my PS2, PSP, DS combo. I ONLY got a Cube once Fire Emblem 9 came out. I picked up a silver one for only $99. I played Fire Emblem at least 4 times, beat Paper Mario, and spent WAY too many hours with buddies of mine on Mario Cart. Now my Cube sits in my closet. :( Oh, what's sadder is that I LOST my copy of Fire Emblem. :cry

hehe i got a modded wii too, but like didnt mod it ourselves of course, i have a lot of games now and no im not proud of my illegal ways =_=" but.. yeh.. lol
anyway mario galaxy is fun =D super monkey ball and...... i cant really recommend much though... since im not really enjoying the majority of the games so far =/ mario strikers is so so, but seems really repetitive and..boring lol
oh with modded wiis.. so far mine is a wiikey and has been working fine, games are like 4.6gb if you download them. I cant guaranteer your wii will be modded correctly by whoever, but if it is done correctly its worth it i guess. Careful of which mod chip is being installed though.. theres also some fake ones. hmmm goodluck if u do get it modded lol

Natalie, I have 2 Wii's right now. One that's modified and one that isn't. I thought that it was dangerous getting it modified at first so I bought another just in case, I didn't wanna break my first one. So far, there have been no problems and I haven't played my unmodified Wii since! haha. So yeah, as long as they know what they're doing when they mod it, your Wii will be fine. I use my Wii mainly to play gamecube games though. SSBM! But if you're gonna get games soon, I suggest buying Super Mario Galaxy, The Legend of Zelda : Twilight Princess and Super Paper Mario right away. And if you're looking for stuff to play with your friends, you should get Rayman Raving Rabbids and Wario Ware :good

Oh, any of you guys playing Call of Duty 4 on PS3??

I have a modded one :good (only a couple weeks old).
Game-wise.. Raving Rabbids (1 or 2), Mario Party, mario + sonic at olympics and monkey ball are definitely on the top of my list (... NOTHING beats monkey ball!!!! it's so damn fun and cute!)

Oh, if you mod your Wii, can you can still play online with other people right? Or will there be a risk of the mod chip screwing up your Wii? Hm, I have a 3rd generation Wii, so my bro says it will need to use the D2C chip.

WiiFit looks interesting.. but I wouldn't buy it. I wouldn't mind trying it out though. Hehe.

I have 2 XBOX 360's as well. The modded one is banned from going on XBOX LIVE because it's modded. I have to use the other one if I wanna play any games online. As for the Wii, I haven't really tried playing any games online cause the Wii isn't very big in the online games yet, but I'll try it when SSBB comes out. The other online features work fine though. Yup, I think you should go with it... You could get tons of games that way, try everything out and stuff.

@natalie....yes u can still play online, well wit the games that are compatible so far atleast! i got a modded wii too.... and its hard to update since u have to take it out and reprogramme each time.. >.<

lol...u can update the wii....but some of the newer games like mario galaxy requires update for the chip itself (as for wiikey) u jus put in thte wiikey update disc, but for my chip its open source so i ahve to programme it with my compuiter>.<''

Btw, Nat, if you want to mod it at PMall, it'll be $150. If you mod it from those stores, they usually do a pretty good job. JAYL's brother was really taking a huge risk trying to install the chip himself.

I haven't modded mine yet, but I am thinking of getting it done also.

Mario & Sonic is pretty good. It's a really good multi-player game, not much of a single player game because it can get boring playing by yourself. Personally, I really enjoy it. Gosh, it seems like everyone is raving about Super Mario Galaxy, maybe I should get it after the holidays.

Ah, I thought Wii's were relatively easy to get. I live in Mississauga, so not too far away, and there are some places here that have them :/.

My friends lined up for them overnight at Futureshop the night before it was released, and now they hardly play it, putting all their hopes on Smash Bros Brawl for when it comes out though.

Hnn, as I suggested in the shoutbox at some point, "Cooking Mama" is pretty fun. It's like $20, and it's a good party game. I don't know about how much depth it has, but having a cooking showdown against your friends is fun :clap .

Razgriz, maybe you should join us for our next Toronto Outing. We'll be going to Frozen's place, which is also in Mississauga. Perhaps we'll play some Wii as well.

You know you could do what my cousin did with his PS2. He got his modded version from Japan, but it didn't work with games here in Canada. So he bought another from Wal-Mart and did the ol' switcheroo (keep the North American / refund the Japanese)

But the thing is, a "modded" Japanese PS2? It should be able to play games from North America since it's ... you know ... modded, right? Not sure why it didn't work for him.

oh yeh make sure you play games only from your region, which would be ntsc i think? If you play a pal game and it installs an update on your ntsc wii, it'll stuff up =/
Since some people dont have internet to update their wii, nintendo puts it on some of their games like mario strikers, paper mario etc.
Wario ware wii is fun =D you'll know if you played the ds one lol
