And as for the Mass Order of YUI's
Thank you My teens DVD, HMV gave me an email on Monday about it being shipped. And today, Thursday, I've got the delivery notice in the morning and I've picked up my package in the afternoon. Check this out:
The Mystery of What's Inside the Box ...
Side NOTE: The same Momoko Uchiyama (same as CBML MO) did the packaging once again

Opening the Box!

Taking out the Package. Nice bubble warp.

Viola ... And look at that! A Winter Sleeve cover of FMTY for
yukio.

A closer look ... OT's BoA, yukio's Tomorrow's Way, and the 4 copies of TYMT DVDs. But what's that at the bottom ...

The complete shot ... including the stuff I got for myself ...
3 Kobukuro DVDs, and the
Kobukuro Guitar Score book! This is one damn-good Christmas gift for myself ... hohoho!

HMV Order:

Custom Charges:

VISA Statement:

Ok ... let's go back to the math class.
Duty Charge: It looks like they only charged the duty on the CDs and DVDs. So there is an overall handling charge (at the bottom) of
$8.00, and each item shares $8.00 / 10 items =
$0.80 per itemThe exchange rate that is used for the duty charge is CAD$292.57 / 29141 yen (total amount minus book) =
0.01004. (this is not the same as VISA charged me)
So the Custom's value of
each TYMT DVDs in CAD is 2442 yen * 0.01004 =
$24.52The Custom's value of
OT's BoA CD in CAD is 3800 yen * 0.01004 =
$38.15 The Custom's value of
yukio's Tomorrow's Way & CBML in CAD is 3786 yen * 0.01004 =
$38.01And the Custom's value of
My 3 Kobukuro DVDs in CAD is 11787 yen * 0.01004 =
$118.34The duty (6%)
[item value * 0.06] and both taxes (14%) are calculated after the duty
[(item value * 1.06) * 0.14].
So the
Duty to:
The TYMT DVD is ($24.52 * 0.06) =
$1.47OT-only Items is ($38.15 * 0.06) =
$2.29yukio-only Items is ($38.01 * 0.06) =
$2.28s0l1dsn8k3-only Items is ($118.34 * 0.06) =
$7.10And the
Taxes for:
The TYMT DVD is ($24.52 * 1.06) * 0.14 =
$3.64OT-only Items is ($38.15 * 1.06) * 0.14 =
$5.66yukio-only Items is ($38.01 * 1.06) * 0.14 =
$5.64s0l1dsn8k3-only Items is ($118.34 * 1.06) * 0.14 =
$17.56Thus the
Total Duty, Taxes, and Handling for:
The TYMT DVD is $3.64 + $1.47 + $0.80 = $5.91OT's Items is $5.66 + $2.29 + $0.80 + $5.91 (TYMT DVD) = $14.66 yukio's Items is $5.64 + $2.28 + ($0.80 x 2) + $5.91 (TYMT DVD) = $15.43 s0l1dsn8k3's Items is $17.56 + $7.10 + ($0.80 x 3) + $5.91 (TYMT DVD) = $32.97 Frozen's Items is $5.91 (TYMT DVD) = $5.91
Shipping Charge: The total shipping HMV charged was
4700 yen for the
11 items shipped. So the shared shipping charge is:
(4700 / 11 items) * 0.009435 exchange rate (from VISA) = CAD$4.03 shipping per item OT will pay for shipping of 2 items (
$8.06), yukio will pay for shipping of 3 items (
$12.09), I will pay for shipping of 5 items (
$20.15), and Frozen will pay for shipping of 1 item (
$4.03).
Overall Cost:Since the VISA charged me at the exchange rate of
0.009435:
For
OT's items (BoA CD, TYMT DVD) is 6242 yen * 0.009435 =
$58.89For
yukio's items (TW Single, FMTY, TYMT DVD) is 6228 yen * 0.009435 =
$58.76For
s0l1dsn8k3's items (4 DVDs + book) is 17129 yen * 0.009435 =
$161.62For
Frozen's items (TYMT DVD) is 2442 yen * 0.009435 =
$23.04And now it's just a matter of adding the Duty and Shipping for each person and so:
OT's items are $58.89 + $14.66 + $8.06 = $81.61 yukio's items are $58.76 + $15.43 + $12.09 = $86.28 s0l1dsn8k3's items are $161.62 + $32.97 + $20.15 = $214.74Frozen's item is $23.04 + $5.91 + $4.03 = $32.98 At the next outing ... show me the money, guys!
Orange Toast - November 30, 2007 07:11 AM (GMT)
Yay my BoA cd is here! I'm so not looking forward to this outing lol, I owe Snake so much money . Plus im probably gonna have to pay Nat for the t-shirt too XD. Anyways I'm free on those days, except the 26th (Shopping is a must on Boxing Day) and I might have my own New Years Eve party to go to.

Razgriz - December 1, 2007 03:32 AM (GMT)
:o Another Kobukuro fan! I can't play their songs on the guitar to save my life though. In fact, I basically can't play anything on the guitar haha.
Anyways, neat stuff! I never knew that was the backcover of the "From Me To You" YUI album, my favorite picture of her :sry
........ on another note..... customs charges.... gross.
mondsiu - December 1, 2007 07:41 AM (GMT)

s0l1dsn8k3 - December 1, 2007 07:59 AM (GMT)
Yes, it is the FMTY with Winter Sleeve.
And btw, mondsiu, when and how long are you going to San Fran? See if we can plan it so you'll be here as well.
mondsiu - December 1, 2007 11:45 PM (GMT)
i dunno probably will be gone until after dec
FrozenNhiem - December 2, 2007 05:28 AM (GMT)
seems like most people are busy during december so there might be a chance of something in the first few days of the new year??
s0l1dsn8k3 - December 2, 2007 08:24 AM (GMT)
Well ... if it's going to be the New Year, then we can have it between Jan 1st to 6th (except Friday, the 4th because I have hockey ... but I guess if everyone wants to do it that day, I can skip hockey). I will be good with Sat, the 5th since I won't have work that weekend.
Cross - December 2, 2007 05:05 PM (GMT)
Put me down for the 5th or 6th
milkyway - December 2, 2007 07:50 PM (GMT)

nataliejwong - December 3, 2007 05:41 AM (GMT)
Erm. I guess you could put me down for 5th and 6th too, hehe.
s0l1dsn8k3 - December 3, 2007 09:29 PM (GMT)
The 5th is Saturday and 6th is Sunday. So I guess it's a No to any of the weekdays?
Orange Toast - December 4, 2007 04:14 AM (GMT)
We should aim for the 5th because IT IS a Saturday and 2nd semester lectures start on the 7th :angry
Razgriz - December 5, 2007 04:50 AM (GMT)
*sigh* I wish I had joined the forum earlier, I never knew about the winter sleeve edition of FMTY, now I gotta get a single item from yesasia haha.... :(

That's okay. Now you can purchase YUI stuff with all of us. :)
Hm, are we going to have this Christmas/New Years outing at Frozen's place then? We got to do some guitaring & wii-ing at Frozen's place then. Whoo!
I think the Acoustic Monster shirts MIGHT be ready before Christmas holidays. It all depends if the printer shop keeps their promise for next Thursday as the deadline.
:good
So if the shirts are ready by next week, we'll be able to wear the shirts on our next outing! Yipee! Of course, each one of you will have to pay first before getting the shirt, ahem. Haha. We'll need to take out our guitars, and pose with the shirts... it's a must. All of us MUST do it.
:clap
s0l1dsn8k3 - December 7, 2007 05:14 AM (GMT)
Yep ... Guitaring, Wii-ing ... or perhaps Guitar Wii-ing (if someone happens to get Guitar Heros 3 for Wii ... haha)
Yeah, if you have the t-shirts done, we can do the collecting during the outing.
Where are the other members?
nataliejwong - December 7, 2007 05:37 AM (GMT)
Eee.. I just realized that zenaku and mondsiu didn't buy the shirts.. so they'll be left out for the shirt pose! I guess I can bring two extra shirts for them to wear for the shirt picture still... I'll just charge them $2 for wearing it, lol.
Guitar Hero III is sold out for the Wii console in the GTA. It only outputs mono sound too. I sorta want to wait until they fix the sound to at least stereo, but it'll be nice if they can add surround sound option too. Either way, I'll most likely get Guitar Hero III once it's available for purchase.
:suki

The t-shirt should last since it will be screen printed. Also, it helps if you flip the shirt inside out when you wash it and use a lighter washing mode.

It also helps if you don't iron the shirt - you can get away with having a wrinkle-free shirt if you take it out from the dryer once it's done its cycle.

Yes, this is for the outing at Frozen's house in Mississauga. Other Mississauga YUI-Lovers, please come, come!
Razgriz - December 11, 2007 05:37 AM (GMT)
Is having the ability to play the guitar a prerequisite? lol
s0l1dsn8k3 - December 11, 2007 06:20 AM (GMT)
Nope ... no prerequisite ... but if you don't play guitar, then you better be able to sing YUI's songs ... haha :la@
You play the piano, right? I don't know if Frozen has a piano at his home. If he has, you can play something for us. We can also teach you guitar.
Come, come!
FrozenNhiem - December 11, 2007 06:28 AM (GMT)

nataliejwong - December 12, 2007 02:41 PM (GMT)
What kind of gathering will this be? Are we going to do a pot luck kind of dinner? or go out for dinner like we usual do?
s0l1dsn8k3 - December 12, 2007 04:14 PM (GMT)
Don't you remember? Frozen said he'll cook for us! hahaha :la@
We can do pot luck ... though I'm not much of a cook/kitchen guy at all =b
