| Dô sun no ? (どうすんの?) refers to dô suru no ? (どうするの?), and it means : What to do?. It can be "What am I gonna do ? or What am I suppose to do ?. Since this sentence is short and don't include a personal pronoun like watashi (me) or anata (you), if the speaker use this sentence and seems to speak to someone else, of course, the good translation should be : "what are you gonna do ?" or "what will you do ? (...now ? ...from now?). In japanese, you can easily elude thpersonal pronoun when the grammatical subject is obvious, most of the time, the 1st (me, I, myself... ps : title of my wonderful blog about music ... :) ) or 2nd person (you). The polite and timeless form is : dô shimasu ka ? どうしますか?. Dô sun da yo? (どうすんだよ?) have the same meaning, but with a little emphasis. Hope it can be a response. All the best. |
