Grrrr....wait, did I already know about this? @@
I hate you. >_>
...
Buy me a present there, okay? ^^;;
nataliejwong - October 9, 2007 02:05 AM (GMT)
If you go to Japan in 5 years, then I can probably join you because I'm broke from student loans and jobless.
Heh.
s0l1dsn8k3 - October 9, 2007 06:21 AM (GMT)
Another trip this year, Brad? It's pretty difficult to ask something to join you in such short notice. You'll have more chance if you're planning for next year summer or something.
And your Dec 17-26 time, the plane ticket should probably be at the expensive high-season price already.

Well, be happy that it isn't the Golden Week holiday. I heard that you've to book your flights 6 months in advance if you wanna go to Japan during the Golden Week...

Roxy36 - November 15, 2007 04:44 PM (GMT)
ah, damn! i wish i've seen this earlier..
anywho, it's probably gonna be another year or two 'till i visit..
1) i really wanna plan out the trip carefully so we don't get lost in translation..
also, that'd be great if i went during a yui concert and/or chatmonchy concert!
2) my budget
3) brushing up on the language
well.. one good thing about it is that my cousin recently moved in with his fiance over there.. but it may be too soon to ask if i could crash in with 'em.. hehe
that sure would save a lot of dough though.. anyway, i guess i'll just play it by ear!
Hope you have fun, dude!!
KaiserKawaii - December 9, 2007 05:26 AM (GMT)
i'll be there... after 4 years?... :sry

man, i wish i was there.
PS. is this fantasy outing?
s0l1dsn8k3 - December 18, 2007 06:56 AM (GMT)
I don't think any YUI Lovers (outside of Japan) are joining him and fly to Japan. Although we do have a few members that currently lives and Japan and perhaps Brad might meet up with them. We'll see when he gives us an update.
However, the unfortunate part about his trip is ... he's going with his gf :sry
No Japanese girl for him ... :hee

hehe you think that :hee
was up yall i arrived last night in japan and so far is has been a blast!!
so much to do so lil time...
must drop all the unnecessary things to make this trip the fullest hehe
aka... eating, sleeping, calling back home......
jk jk...
but anyways heres a trip update....
i left monday afternoon to headed to JFK airport in new york.... we had a layover there which our flight was the next morning at 11:30am
we got to new york around 10:30 pm and had to get our luggage to recheck them in since our flight was the next morning...
we planned ahead to be cheap and bunk in the airport so we can save hotel cost in the expensive Christmas season... (we checked it was like 200 bucks a night... for the 10 hours we might spend in the city)
but things didnt turn out as planned... after we got out of baggage claim turns out the earliest we can check in for next day flights was 3:00 am... so we spend the first 3 hours of our time finding a cold uncomfortable spot between the escalators of baggage claim and the check in lobby... where we found ourselves bunking with more prepared people, they had packed a sleeping bag, 2 comfy goose down pillows and a furnace with hot coffee in it...sigh.. lucky ducks…
while my girlfriend got some shut eye sleeping on her hard laptop bag and 50 pounds of luggage, i stayed awake to keep watch., since we both had over a grand in cash in our wallets and we found a few nighttime workers to be kind of shady looking...
at about 3 am we got ourselves in line with already 50 -60+ people in front of us.. (well i kind of dosed off and woke up around 3:30)
SOOO! first and foremost i like to thank american airlines for their fine... craftsmanshit.. ( *cough* excuse me) craftsmanship in hiring the most unintelligent, one minded, and uptight employees to their industry... they really have a great long lasting impression that’s going to be embed in the minds of their customers...
well this is what happened... we all got orderly in line while they were dishonest on their word of starting their check ins at 3 am.. we start at 4 am and already we had 50+ people in front of us.. and 50+ people behind us.. a short tempered hispanic employee came in front of the line shouting in spanish and broken english..
"miami people get in line one... people in all domestic flights get into line 2 and, all people heading to the caymen islands get into the 3rd line"
so in the mass confusion of people getting in line, we kindly went up to the lady and asked her where all the international flights were getting in line at.. with her cocky Hispanic- Brooklyn accent she told us to get in the third line like we were dumbasses for not understanding her asinine instructions...
so we got into the third line... and after 30 mins of waiting... turns out that all the people in the lines were going to the same check in counter and that they were going to assist all the people in the first 2 lines before they even think about the people in the 3rd line.... an hour into it... they realized how stupid their idea were... and how angry they people in line 2 and 3 are getting.. since all new people that came into the airport were getting into the first lines... so after waiting until 7am we finally got ourselves out of the check in lines where we were applauded on being the first people to get through check in that waited since 3 am…
we boarded the plane and finally got some shut eye….
14 hours later…
we got off the plane.... cooooooold as hell... (ummm maybe not hell but it was cold)
and my phone didnt work.... which made me mad cuz it was suppose to work... since i spend nights of research making sure that my phone did work in japan (nokia n95)
so my girlfriend and i felt already bombed 5 mins into our trip... we were both pretty agitated on the restless flight and fact that we needed to go back to ancient times to work a pay phone... trying to call out of country and to call collect...we failed at that… and tried just calling a local friend to relay the message to my parents…
after going through customs and everything… we quickly exchange some cash and bought a train ticket from Narita airport to the center of Tokyo…
while on the train.. I found out that I needed to switch my phone from quad band to the dual mode with 3g…and instantly I received signal from docomo and felt relieved for the first time since our trips.. (turns out that my phone is one of 7 phones that works both in japan and usa)
we made the best of it and turned our moods around seeing the beautiful lights of japan… which in a way really calmed the both of us…
we go off the train and had to switch to another train to get to our hotel… you cant imagine how hard it is to get through the Tokyo foot traffic with two 50 pounds luggage’s which I had to carry quickly up 3 flights of stairs to avoid getting the stink eye from the locals… I think I blew out my right arm…
but we got to our hotel… and the first thing we did was drop every thing.. take a shower.. and go out for the night…
after getting ourselves dressed up… and familiarized with the japan auto pass cards… we met up with a friends.. and headed to eat…
we went to a really really really really nice resturant which one of my girlfriends friends boyfriend owned… so… hehe free meal!!
I felt bad since each meal was like 70000 yen… and it was really good… so and afterwards we went to karaoke… and had a blast!! Sang YUI songs… and other familiar English and Japanese titles…
We got out about 3 am.. and went to my girlfriends friends high class condo… which.. is like… WOW …
You guys really need to see this view…. Soooo nice…
And finally I got my first bit of deep shut eye…
And now… im at the condo.. on the computer… energized.. and ready to start a new day! Here I come japan!! Here a come YUI!!
Pictures later!
