NOTE TO OTHER OUTING ORGANIZERS: This is an example thread for you guys to check out as well, as the existing outing thread are getting quite long (especially the Sg ones). For future outings, we can create a new thread per outing. This should be more organized as there will be beginning (the planning) and an end (final comments and pictures) to each outing.

Ok guys, it's time to organize another outing now since we've got some new Toronto members recently.

Our last outing, we went guitarless and the day went by feeling kinda half-full. So this time, with some new guitarist members, a jam session is definitely in order once again.

First, the date of the outing. For me it would be best on Sundays because I work on Saturday. But Saturday after 4pm is ok with me as well. Except for Sunday, October 7, I'm good with any weekend. However I can do Saturday, October 6 since it's part of the long weekend and I don't have work on that Saturday. When you reply, please specify which day you are and aren't available so we can all plan accordingly. Right now, I'm suggesting Sun Sept 30, Sat Oct 6, Sun Oct 21 ...

Second, the place of the outing. So far, we've been lucky that we started doing the Outings in the Summer and the weather has been kind to us every single outing. However, as Fall is arriving, it will only get cooler outside. If the weather is still warm enough, we can hold the outing outdoors again at a park or something. But we'll also need to think of alternate indoor location in case of cooler weather or a rainy day. When you reply, please give both an outdoor and an indoor location suggest of where the outing may take place. Milliken Park is always nice. Or we can go to the grass side of that Church next to PMall again. For indoor, Natalie once told me that her place can be used (if parents approve). I can also offer my place since I have a furnished basement and has an open area that we can gather for guitaring.

Third, activities of the day. GUITARING!!! Anyone wants to suggestion anything else. There are a few of the Toronto members that don't play guitar so we can also do other things. Or we can have guitaring early in the day with the guitarists, and then have dinner with the rest of the members who would like to join.

Forth, EATS. Depending on when we meet, we can do just dinner or both lunch and dinner. Like Orange Toast suggested in the old thread, Teppanyaki is a good idea. We can also do something simple like "Fuhhhh". I'm good with anything, as long as there's food in the stomach.

So now ... let the discussion begin!!

DATES: Saturday, October 6, 2007

TIME: 12pm (Noon)

PLACE: Pacific Mall & Park

ACTIVITIES: Lunch, Guitaring (a must!!), Mongolian Dinner

UPDATE: Date, Time, and Place Confirmed

yukio - September 21, 2007 02:20 AM (GMT)
i hope to join, but im not sure if ill b able too. GUITARING YEAAHHHH lol

yeah recently i seem to be getting sick alot.... so indoor place would be good too

activities.... is there anything YUI-related? whens Love and truth availaible here?? does it take time to ship over? or is it alread pre-ordered and everything. so itll b in stock in stores? iuno i dont go to music stores which sells foreign stuff

s0l1dsn8k3 - September 21, 2007 02:53 AM (GMT)
Like I said in the old thread, I can pick you up no problem yukio.

Love & Truth will be out next week, but it won't be here in Toronto yet. Even if you order it online yourself, it'll take at least a week. I'm not sure how long is it before Toronto has a "legit" copy because I didn't follow and I don't go to PMall often enough.

(I did go to PMall this evening for a quick run of something and I actually saw the latest CUTiE magazine featuring YUI on the cover for CAD$15 at the entertainment store next to the North entrance ... friggin expensive)

YUI-related activities? Is there anything that's better than jamming to YUI's songs together? Practice them for the outing.

Orange Toast - September 21, 2007 04:25 AM (GMT)
Not 100% on those dates due to this "midterm" thing during the middle of October. I'm pretty sure I can come to anything during the night, but during the afternoon...well you can count me out.

nataliejwong - September 21, 2007 04:26 PM (GMT)
I think most of us will be avaliable for weekends :)

s0l1dsn8k3 - September 21, 2007 04:47 PM (GMT)
Please give specific dates, if you can. Just saying you're available on weekends doesn't really narrow down the options.

nataliejwong - September 21, 2007 05:44 PM (GMT)
For me, it doesn't really matter which weekends, but Saturdays are preferred. My classes are all on Tuesday, so I have Wed-Fri to work on my school work.

yukio - September 21, 2007 06:43 PM (GMT)
lol! thats sick. two days of school... haha hopefully i get that kinda schedule next yr,

i kinda prefer sometime in october, cuz right now i have lots of stuff to do, like not just hmk but alot of church stuff, other activities

zenaku - September 21, 2007 06:46 PM (GMT)
i prefer saturdays as well. like any saturday is good. got class mon-thurs so sunday would be like the rush all the work day lol.

Orange Toast - September 21, 2007 07:43 PM (GMT)
Seems to me that everyone wants to do it on a Saturday, so we gonna do it on Sat Oct 6 then? Last holiday of the year until Christmas comes rolling around.

s0l1dsn8k3 - September 21, 2007 07:59 PM (GMT)
As I mentioned in my first post, I work on Saturdays till 2pm so if you guys don't mind, then we can do a late afternoon thing, like at 4pm, then dinner, then continue guitaring or whatever we do after dinner as well.

Or the other option maybe the Thanksgiving long weekend. Since we'll be closed for the long weekend, I don't need to work on that Saturday, Oct 6. But I'll need to be in Montreal the next day, Oct 7. Right now I'm still trying to see if I'll need to go to Montreal on Saturday or Sunday morning. If I don't need to go on Saturday, then I think October 6 is a really good date to have the outing.

kakashi - September 22, 2007 03:34 AM (GMT)
yah sg one is getting alittle too long

cLam - September 22, 2007 05:57 AM (GMT)
I'll need to get back to this thread later... 4th year is turning out to be harder than I thought it'd be =( (but i'm definitely fine with either saturday/sunday... if i can make it that is)

Cross - September 23, 2007 04:54 AM (GMT)
Saturdays or Sundays are fine with me, although my preference is for Saturday since I've got work on Mondays =P.

Practicing YUI songs before the outing would probably be something to our advantage so that way our jamming sessions doesn't end up becoming noodling around on our guitars for a couple of hours. We could perhaps learn a couple of songs and those who need still need help with the song when the outing occurs could receive assistance from those who have already learned it. Perhaps we could also come up with a "set list"? Couple o' YUI songs and some western songs would be cool too. Just my 2 cents.

s0l1dsn8k3 - September 23, 2007 05:13 AM (GMT)
Good idea, Cross.

One issue with playing YUI's song is, nobody knows the lyrics well enough to sing it ... ... ... well maybe just me :what, but that's no good.

We can jam LIFE again, it's always a good one. I don't know what songs you guys like. How 'bout jamming JAM? haha. Or should I pick up my viola/violin again and try to do the violin riff in Love & Truth? I don't know how long it'll take for me to get comfortable playing it again. :sry

OK. Since most of you already reply that Saturday is better. Why don't we decide now that we'll meet on a Saturday at 4pm? Does anyone agree?

If you guys agree, then we'll move on to decide which Satruday.

FrozenNhiem - September 23, 2007 05:32 AM (GMT)
im thinking some time in October too, just email me about it... i dunno about the practicing haha ill probably be noodling around with my git on that day =P

s0l1dsn8k3 - September 24, 2007 10:50 PM (GMT)
Ok, some good news from my end. I should be OK with Saturday, Oct 6 (the Thanksgiving long weekend). I think this is like the best date for most of you in school since even if you procrastinate, there's still Sunday and Monday for you to make up for not doing your homework early. The rest of October will be filled with Midterms and it'll will be more difficult for some of you to come out.

If you guys agree, please reply back ASAP so we can confirm the date and move on to other parts of the Outing.

yukio - September 24, 2007 10:55 PM (GMT)
oh i just realized... i gotta make up some kinda lie to tell my parents haha they'll b like ur meeting up with strangers from an online forum???? WTH!! lol

yukio - September 25, 2007 12:08 AM (GMT)
yea but im not in college yet and it would b weird to have friends older than me.. lol, ill say something like oh they're leaders from TC a few years ago, and we decided to get together again and play some guitar haha

zenaku - September 25, 2007 01:48 AM (GMT)

You could always tell her you're hanging out with your boyfriend...although whether she'll think that's better or worse, who knows

Should be good for Oct 6. The more people that come out, the merrier. Looking forward to some good times!

yukio - September 25, 2007 02:25 AM (GMT)
yep oct 6 sounds cool... if something doesnt pop up randomly.

i think my excuse would work XD... but dang i should b able to drive by now.... the last two times i tried to take the test, for random reasons i couldnt... like last time, i was sick, the time before that i screwd up my wrist doing a 8 foot jump on my bike LOL. sooo gay.

s0l1dsn8k3 - September 25, 2007 07:29 AM (GMT)
Ok that sounds good guys. I'm officially declaring Oct 6 will be the day for the outing.

Next in the agenda ... a Place for the Guitar session. We should at least decide on two location, one outdoor and one indoor. Outdoor location, like a park, is always accessible. But in case of cooler weather or rain, we should have a indoor location as backup as well.

Other than Milliken Park and the Church opposite of PMall, any other suggestions?

Hmmm, indoor plan. We could go bowling, mini golf or movie? Or crash at someone's place and just chill with our guitars...

s0l1dsn8k3 - September 25, 2007 05:48 PM (GMT)
Bowling? haha. That will have to come "after" guitaring. You don't want to have a dead arm from bowling and end up can't even strum the guitar.

FrozenNhiem - September 25, 2007 07:05 PM (GMT)
if we chill at someone's house we could watch Taiyou No Uta ... again haha

zenaku - September 25, 2007 09:40 PM (GMT)
OMG bowling, i love!!! i suck at it though lol. and yea, if thats whats happening then its gotta be after guitaring.

yukio - September 25, 2007 10:28 PM (GMT)
hmmm... lets go to a subway station and play there like YUI LOL jokes haha, its like illegal haha.

someones house is good...

wait so the schedule is guitaring then dinner then something after something like that?

FrozenNhiem - September 26, 2007 01:11 AM (GMT)
-__- if we go bowling im going to end up dropping the ball on my feet or something like that

Orange Toast - September 26, 2007 02:05 AM (GMT)
WOOT bowling!! We can always go after dinner. Club 300 has Glow-in-the-Dark bowling after 9:30 last time I went there.

Cross - September 26, 2007 02:18 AM (GMT)
I'd probably prefer bowling before dinner - it's not as crowded and therefore we could secure 2 lanes if need be. Markham bowl has glow in the dark bowling during ALL hours of the day lol. If there's enough time after dinner perhaps we could go for BBT? If we were to go to World Bowl, there's a boatload of restaurants to choose from and several BBT places to go to :good Nat knows I'm an addict, thus I'll make a plug whenever possible haha.

If nobody can think of a place to jam indoors, I can offer up my house for all of you to come over. I've got a TV and DVD player in the basement if you want to watch that YUI movie and a gas fireplace if it really gets cold. Food, drinks, guitars...you're on your own - my fridge is empty. There's some X-year old beer for Orange Toast if he wants it lmao.

nataliejwong - September 26, 2007 03:22 AM (GMT)
I think Orange Toast would still drink that beer because he's a toast... an ORANGE toast. He he he.

I was gonna suggest maybe my place because I have sort of a home theatre, but since you offer, let's go to Cross' house then! We can play with all his guitars! :clap If no one disagrees, I'll make it official ... hahaha =P

Like Cross said, I think bowling before dinner is also a better choice since we'll beat the crowd.

If that's the case, I suggest that we meet up at 1pm somewhere, like PMall. If up to you guys if you want to have lunch together there or have your own lunch before meeting. Then we'll head to Cross' place by 2pm. Jam guitar for 3-4 hrs. We'll go bowling at around 6pm. Then finish off with dinner and BBT.

But since yukio has parents to consider, he may not be able to stay out for too late.

nataliejwong - September 26, 2007 02:59 PM (GMT)
Wow. Looks like Snake planned the entire thing by himself. Haha.

s0l1dsn8k3 - September 26, 2007 03:14 PM (GMT)
^ Well you guys and your "one-line" replies are not helping =P

It would be much better if your replies also have USEFUL suggestions.

Going back to Cross' idea of picking songs to jam, other than LIFE, I'm gonna choose Jam. Jam to Jam ... lol. I just tried it last night and it's actually not that hard of a song. You can find the chords and solo tabs here ( http://yui-lover.com/index.php?showtopic=4867 ) and aside from one funky chord and a barring B chord, all others are open chords.

Ok, I've made my suggestions, now it's you guys turn.

More beer = more fun it's scientific fact, look it up.

cLam - September 26, 2007 04:10 PM (GMT)
I might have something going on that day, so still unsure whether I can make it or not (though, I'll try my best to make it to the dinner, if not bbt =D)

off topic.... natalie... i 'think' i saw you on the bus yesterday (but i didn't want to go up to a random stranger and start talking. lol) :sry
