Title: Byousoku 5 Centimeter =(
Description: anime movie

zenaku - September 14, 2007 12:36 AM (GMT)
this is the saddest thing i have ever seen. maybe cuz i just watched it but its filled with negativity. anyone who's already sad shouldn't watch up. anyways, has anyone else seen this? the soundtrack is by tenmon the same guy who did the soundtrack for beyond the clouds. really amazing music and art. but its so sad!! :cry basically without trying to spoil too much its called 5 centimeter per second cuz apparently cherry petals fall 5 centimeters per second. wikipedia says it represents how people are. as time passes, people change and those who were close will separate. like how cherry petals were close when they were on the tree, then fall separately. something like that, but thats just wikipedia. there might be a different meaning to the title.

pandas who read this scare me - September 15, 2007 12:20 AM (GMT)
it was awesome until the thrid/final part i got confused however it was a nice song.

i would strongly recommend to anyone. I watched it on the same day as i watched NANA the live action movie. Do trains in japan really stop that often due to snow???

This anime had one of the most beautiful animation I've ever seen. Makoto Shinkai really did a good job with it. :cry omg yes it is sad, the pretty animation and soundtrack makes the story really sad. The story itself wouldn't of been much of an impact. lol don't watch it if you aren't mentally prepared.

exactly, i was so not prepared at all. didn't know what it was gonna be about then :shock omg, was depressed for the rest of the day.

not bad
but i dun really understand

but of cos most of wat i can understand are added up to SAD

they transfered to a same sch and had to leave each other
they met for 1 night
then they grow up and
here i dun really get it anymore

zenaku - October 4, 2007 05:45 AM (GMT)
ok, SPOILERS

basically they knew each other when they were in like primary school. then the girl transferred. then they kept in contact through letters. afterwards they met once. that was chapter 1.

chapter 2 is about them in middle or high school. the guy starts to run out of things to say in his txt msgs. obviously as they grow, they change. forget the other girl, she's like unrelated.

chapter 3 is about when they grow up. they have like different partners now and dont even remember each other. the girl sees the guy's old letter, she doesn't even remember. the guy sees cherry blossoms and doesn't remember. i think the saddest part is when they past each other at the end and they don't even recongnize each other.

basically the msg in the movie is that those who were close would over time turn into strangers and its absolutely true. its like the whole movie we're waiting for them to reunite but it turns out entirely different. there's no third person that breaks them up. i thought the girl in the second chapter would but in the end, it turns out that time kills it. real sad stuff. :cry

ic now
so thats how its works

they even showed how they came together and in the end how they cant remember each other at all

not a bad story

jus something extra:
wat does it hav to do with the falling spd of the cherry blossoms anyway

i love the soundtrack as well. as for why it resembles cherry blossoms you should read my first post at the top. kinda an interpretation. if you liked this movie, you should watch beyond the clouds which was an older movie from the same artist and soundtrack creator.
