I've just read the news about a Japanese man who uploaded scans of manga magazines to his website was ordered to pay about 20 million yen by the court. This year some people (including high school students) have arrested for uploading scans. I guess the Japanese police's patrols on the internet is getting strict. You know what we are doing is actually illegal and this forum can be searched easily on Google or other search engines. It's also conceivable that Japanese people come to YL to get magazine scans. I've never heard someone outside of Japan was arrested or sued for uploading Japanese stuff, but I guess it's not good that the pic section can be viewed by non-members now, so shouldn't we make it members-only like media section? I think it's safer...

if its really that bad...i second the suggestion...about making the picture section for member's view only

Coz as far as I know, uploading copyrighted photos or using it on the net will only be illegal if you do not give proper credits for the owner of the photo... as long as you state the owner/company or put the logo of the owner/company on the photo, it is not considered illegal...

It can only be illegal if you sell their items (with company logo) on your site and you are not an authorized seller/distributor of the item.
