hi i am playing that game once in a while as well
Alpharius - September 4, 2007 09:56 PM (GMT)
Im playing on a free private server here
http://www.burning-wow.com/home.html
zenaku - September 5, 2007 03:52 AM (GMT)
played it before but got bored of it. i don't see how ppl can find it addicting. maybe its just me and the minority but i got to mid 50s. and private servers tend to be quite empty. even the biggest ones you won't see much ppl in such a big world. and officials suck money lol.
iron_turkey - September 6, 2007 10:48 PM (GMT)
oh wow the free one.. i know my friend plays on it.. but wont we get caught lol
Cybergeron89 - September 7, 2007 06:40 AM (GMT)

caught? you mean for playing on the private server?
probably not because they wouldnt care for the individual players lol, the people who run it might get in trouble but we wont.
and its not that bad, around 5000 ppl on the high rate server, which is 15x more exp, 15x better drop chance, etc. good for lazy ppl like me XD and a 1x server with like 1k ppl which has a closer community. Good times....
cidintank - September 24, 2007 03:03 PM (GMT)
Sorry for reviving this dead thread. I play WoW! Official server. It's worth the money IMO. Oceanic server Jubei'thos. Level 70 Mage and Warrrior! Recently expired though. Will renew soon after my exams are over. Frankly, I don't like private servers because they are way too empty. And the high rates just don't go down well for me. But it's free.
Alpharius - September 24, 2007 07:20 PM (GMT)
the server i play on is fairly decent, 3k ppl on at a time max, but the horde out number the alliance 3:1 so thats the only downside. Plus there are 2 servers, one is blizzrate and the other is 15x which isnt too bad. Better than some of those really cheap instant 70 servers
akuchan - September 25, 2007 06:38 AM (GMT)
i started recently =O..lvl 8 =_=" lol
really... i always think games with monthly fees arent worth it.. and then i think mmorpgs are such a waste of time, but WoW is pretty good =/ for now.. hope i survive till lvl 20s.. shouldnt really play private servers.. i tried it last time and it was pretty much empty lol but it lets you get an basic overview i guess
i thought i could download my way through the game but noo... u have to buy a copy for a retail key thing sigh, owell still got 5 day trial =D
cidintank - September 25, 2007 07:48 AM (GMT)
You should experience the real server. Innumerable players online at any given time. Makes the trade channel really flood, which is a good thing. Pretty balanced Horde/Alliance population too (Although they say horde players are better). The huge numbers also make it easier to group up for instances and find guilds for raiding. Again, it's worth the money IMO (But it doesn't change the fact that it hurts my pocket :X )
Alpharius - September 26, 2007 02:39 AM (GMT)
lol our raid groups arent all that big but when you have 12 lvl 70s running at you, its actually pretty hard to stop lol.
the other day a GM held an event where the horde got a portal to SW and they just poured in on us lol. The entire front gate was littered with skeletons XD Got myself 105 kills and like 10k honor in the end lol...good times =)
Took forever to push them back out though, there was at least 80 lvl 70 horde guys in there X_X
cidintank - September 26, 2007 05:56 AM (GMT)
:sry The raids I meant are things like Karazhan and Gruul's Lair. For epic loot. Very exciting these raids. Half of WoW revolves around these 10/25 man instances. Raids on cities happen frequently enough :clap But most of these raids are on smaller towns (Tarren Mill and Southshore) rather than the main cities (Orgrimmar Stormwind etc.)
Alpharius - September 26, 2007 07:09 PM (GMT)
oh yeah, i knew what u meant, Like BT and SSC raids. Those are okay but i actually found them boring. Its not even a challenge when you have a 70 proc warrior tanking the thing and 3 70 rouges dps-ing. takes like 15 minutes and all we do is kinda stand there. fury warriors destroy the creatures with execute in like 1 minute once they hit 20% health. >_>
I like pvp-ing the most when its nice and even. Then raids on large cities are fun.
cidintank - September 27, 2007 03:41 PM (GMT)
O.o That easy? How do you gear up then to clear up to SSC so easily? Are there any special buffs in your server  . We do 25 mans on Gruul's and we wipe often. All 70s of course, anything lower will mean an instant wipe.
Alpharius - September 29, 2007 08:17 PM (GMT)
well there are no buffs but there are special merchants in some cities that sell stronger items, like tier sets and stuff, so basically everyone that can afford it has tier 6. about 100 gold per item. our weapons and trinkets are the only thing that makes us different from one another and maybe our mounts (i got myself "Peep" The phoneix XD )
for our raids, we just have to make sure the warrior or pally holds aggro and we have like 5 healers healing him. once he holds aggro everyone else pours in dps and destroys the thing in an instant :clap
cidintank - September 30, 2007 01:56 PM (GMT)
I was the mage tank for Gruul's, its probably the most irritating raid EVER. We wiped countless times because the nature resist tank (we used a moonkin) kept dying  . If only more bosses are tank&spank (tank and DPS no strat). Tier 6 =O If only we could buy those >_<, would be cool. Thing about WoW is that raid bosses need lots of strategy, meaning if some 5 year old kid decides to fool around, you wipe. So for those of you who are thinking of starting, if you don't like strategies and prefer mindless charging, don't start playing WoW, you'll end up swearing when you wipe.

lol the Shaman add during the High King fight doesn't really do that much damage, he's most likely standing too close and getting in melee range. My guild usually has a moonkin and hunter on it. The most damage they take per hit should only be 3k max. So by the time you kill the priest and lock adds, the shaman should already be less than 10% health.
T6 for 100g? :what What's the point of raiding then if your handed all the gear?
Alpharius - September 30, 2007 06:49 PM (GMT)
well not everyone can afford full tier 6 and the bosses drop different stuff like weapons and sometimes better armour.
our guild has 312 lvl 70s XD XD
thats the guy that sells tier 6
cidintank - October 1, 2007 07:32 AM (GMT)
:shock T6!! I want them @@ . How do you get better armour than T6 From what I know it's the best you can get so far.
Apart from the weapons of course. Otherwise, raiding for thrills?
Alpharius - October 1, 2007 11:36 PM (GMT)
yeah, raiding is just for fun, but pvp is better, WSG is pretty good.
come join us! i can help you guys if u need it =)
cidintank - October 2, 2007 07:58 AM (GMT)
I'll stick to the official server thanks. :clap
Orange Toast - October 2, 2007 12:43 PM (GMT)
From what i've seen. PVP skill of ppl from private servers are laughable compared to actual servers.
cidintank - October 2, 2007 02:15 PM (GMT)
QFT :yoyo . I've seen those high rating 5v5 Arenas my friend plays. :sayw . I'm nowhere close T_T. I arena just for the gear :clap
nihongogakusei - October 2, 2007 02:36 PM (GMT)
I played and alot of my character names where from YUI song lyrics *cough*
But I had to stop, I've been watching my brother get slowly obsessed with that bloody game. Sometimes takes days off work to stay home and play and everything. I think I see him a few times a day when he decides to come downstairs for the loo or for food, but thats about it!
aHH! It takes over your life >.<
Alpharius - October 2, 2007 07:14 PM (GMT)
a lot of the ppl on the server i play on are ppl who quit original WoW cause they didnt want to pay. they say that the subscription made them feel obligated to play so they would spend many more hours than they thought they would in the game. On the private server, since its free, they can stop whenever cause they know they wont lose money over lost time.
its much better imo cause its not as addicting, i wont play as much and im lazy, so i need the 15x rate server lol, although sometimes i do play on the blizz like one =)
EDIT: Lawl, im pretty happy lol, someone came up to me at random and gave me 5k gold =)
HeartYui - October 9, 2007 04:51 PM (GMT)
anyone playing on oceanic: Thaurissan/Barthilas server?
akuchan - October 10, 2007 08:54 PM (GMT)
lol alpharius, i know what u mean about paying and stuff and private servers with fast exp rates
but my friend is like a huge world of warcraft freak and he has a 'SPARE' account, seriously i was like..what the hell, he doesnt use it, but he never cancelled it so it kept on paying the monthly fee though no one uses it, and now.. im on it! =D how lucky hehe, so i pretty much treat it as a free mmo rpg
i play on Thaurrisan =O but im like lvl 14 -.- and really busy with school so cant play it =/ ....yet
