I would like to ask if anyone has the Thank you My Teens Documentary subtitles or translation, I have tried looking on the net but I can't find any. Thank you very much ^^

That's because no one subbed the entire show. There are members here that know Japanese not all of them have the time to do it.

You should introduce yourself in the Members Intro section. And this thread should be under YUI Media Request section as well.

yeah, probably noone has done any subs to it. but i've actually thought about it. i'm pretty busy with some other projects, though. but if anyone's interested in doing subs to it, maybe i could help out a bit. ^_^

so, as there seems to be many who wants subs to this (check this thread), could this thread be remade into a collaboration subbing thread? :unsure:
are there people that are able to translate japanese to english around here? if you're not sure, give it a try and see how it goes. anything is better than nothing. :) it's a fun way to practice your japanese, i promise. :D

if anyone wonders why i've put #'s in front of some lines it's because they're comments and not actual lines. when importing the text into the subbing program (Aegisub) they will become comments instead of lines.

if you feel like doing a part, just post which part you want to translate. :) i'm hoping there's enough people thinking that this is a good idea... of course, if you're not able to translate and know how to do timings for subs you're welcome to do that too.

edit: oh, i just saw atheon's blog entry on this (here). i have yet to read it though, and i have to go to bed now.

Yes, atheon did a summary in her blog, but it is not word for word subtitle of any kind. What you've got there is a start, malte, but you've still got ways to go.

Hey, I've made a little program to make .srt files.
Does everybody know what is a .srt file and how to use it?
If you want, mangomalte, I'll explain to you how to use my program :) But you'll have to insert the hh:mm:ss of appearance and disappearance.

Some Japanese fan actually transcribed this show, it will be easier to translate with it.

Odilon san did part of it in his blog, just find the title with 「不完全な僕らに対する解答」. He did it slowly though. Little by little =)

I need help in viewing the text file.. Cos all the jap characters are like nonsensical symbols.. Are there some settings I needa change? @@

no, the thing is that the .txt file is saved as an ANSII code text file, which means that the japanese characters aren't showed. there's a popup about it whenever you try to save a normal txt-file with japanese characters in it, and when that popup comes you should choose "Cancel" and change the coding for the file to Unicode.
do this: open the file in firefox instead, then you should be able to see the characters. copy all the text and paste it in the text file and then save it as a unicode text file.

I don't know if you've read my text file but I noticed a strange thing. When she's having dinner with the staffs, she said "もう二十歳になりましたよ" but　actually she had not become 20 yet at that time. Is it just a joke? hmm

Something weird is that when you (mangomalte or vivi) write Japanese, I don't have to change the encoding to read it.

i'd actually rather time it than translate it as i know i'm not that very good at japanese. having all the text in japanese surely makes it a lot easier, but if someone else is able to translate it better than me, you're more than welcome to do it.
now, i've got a problem with the video i've got... i can't open it in Aegisub, and i can't rip the audio with VirtualDubMod so i can open that in Aegisub. :angry: is there another version of it than the 693 MB one?
oh, and if you're interested in timing it, just say so. :)

i'd rather say it's strange that that doesn't happen to everyone that's typing in japanese. i've said it several times before, but i've never had to change character encoding to read japanese on any other forum i've been on...

and, yeah, i also think that sounds strange with もう二十になりましたよ... would've sounded better if she'd said もう直ぐ二十になりますよ (is that correct gramatically?).

@Jill-Jenn: She said sth like "it's awkwardly far isnt it?". She was trying to hint that she wanted the audience to come closer. When the staff asked whether she wanted them to move up, she was like iie daijoubu desu... She looked a bit hesitant before saying the first line. :YUIFace

Edit: Is it my encoding problem or does some of my kanji not turn up..

^ You're using shift_jis encoding. There is one character that doesn't display properly.

Hey Reset, how can you display the same text from two different browsers (so that we could see it on any browser) without putting any image? :D

^ it's from the difference of posting is shift_jis encoding and in unicode. I think Firefox natively changes all encoding to unicode before it is displayed.
