Try changing your page encoding to Japanese (Shift-JIS)...?

yes, you have to go to change the encoding to view japanese characters in the forum, the question is why? i've never had to do that on any other site i've been on.

after checking other forums some of them choose Unicode coding automatically. but one which had the same as here showed japanese characters without problem. and when i wrote in the japanese chat thread i could see what i wrote, but not what others wrote. i just find this kinda weird...

how to change it? sorry for being too noob :sry

then maybe you haven't installed japanese on your computer? i'm not sure how to do all that, maybe it's some setting in Regional and Language options in the control panel?
i think that choosing Unicode could work too.
