I did a quick search on this forum and can't seems to see this being posted before. Usually, I really back-check to avoid dups, but got a little lazy this time.
Anyways, the site is called
8notes.com. It has resources for not just guitars, but many other instruments such as piano, violin/viola/cello, flute, etc.
It looks to be a great beginner site also since it has
Beginners Course in Music Theory, as well as basic lessons for some of the instruments, including Guitar.
For the Guitar section, the best part is there's an explanations for beginners on how to tune the guitar, plus the
chord diagrams have finger numbers so you'll know how to position the chord. (
NOTE to Beginers: the finger numbers are basic suggestions. Some fingering can have variations or use whatever finger combination you feel more comfortable)
There are some free guitar tabs, but they look to be mostly arranged from Classical music. There are a few Pop music arrangements for Violin. They say there are plenty more when you pay the $20/year subscription fee. I would say look for tabs/chords elsewhere then come back to this site for reference.
I haven't check out the entire site yet, but so far it looks pretty good.
EDIT: Here's a bonus site.
http://www.torvund.net/guitar/index.php?page=Fr_G-chordThis particular page is very good for beginners learning about G chord. It has chord diagrams with finger numbering and explanations about them. The rest of the site has some music theory, and mostly about Blues. The site has some dead pages, so probably use this as a secondary reference.
