You'll need to look for the strap pins. One should be on the bottom of the guitar and the other should be (when the guitar is sitting upright) on the top left of the body.

Most lower-priced beginner guitars may not have the upper strap button on the guitar body.

If there is no upper button, then the strap is suppose to attach to the bottom of the headstock.

Did the strap came with the guitar package (like those all-in-one-box package) or was it purchased separately?

Wow congradulations on your first guitar!!
What kind of guitar did you get? And if its not too much if you could give a link or something so i can see what it looks like?

It has those two buttons, i just like shoved the buttons holes through em o-o

And the link for the guitar pack ( i bought a pack one ) is..http://www.guitarcenter.com/shop/product/buy_epiphone_pr150_acoustic_player_pack?full_sku=102920766

There also is another problem, i can't seem to figure out how to tune, if there is a topic on that i'll go read it :]

And thanks everyone who congratulated me on getting my guitar.

Nice looking guitar. So your pack already comes with a tuner.

Tuning, for a beginner can't be kind of tricky, especially to those who has never played any kind of instruments before. If the guitar is "completely" out of tune, you just don't know what to do or where to begin.

Doesn't the package come with a DVD? They probably have some explanations there.

Most electronic tuners are very simple, you just turn it on, play a sound in front of it, and it'll automatically detect what the current note of that sound is.

You have to keep in mind of the musical notes are A to G, and this is what will be displayed on the tuner. Let's say if you are tuning the low E string, you pluck it for the tuner and it displays D on the tuner's screen, that means you have to go up in pitch to get to E. To get the higher pitch, you turn the peg of that string on the headstock and tighten the string. The needle on the screen will start to swing to the right as the pitch gets higher. Turn the peg very slowly to avoid over tuning and possibly tighten too much that the string will break.

And vise-versa, if your display shows F, then you need to lower to pitch by loosen the string to get to E, and the needle will swing to the left.

When it is in tune, the letter will show E, the little needle will point straight up, and the green light at the top may even light up.

Thanks :D

If i still can't figure it out ( i'm very slow ) i'll bring my gutiar to school and ask my teacher.

Oh and the dvd, it doesn't work ><

The tuner is also different from the tuner in the picture i'll take a picture of it later but basically it's like a rextangle and it have a guitar and bas feature, and the red buttons and the green button.

Congrats! I just started learning a few weeks ago . It's hard

nataliejwong - May 24, 2007 01:15 PM (GMT)
Well, after the hard part, it'll be easy. Just don't give up, and practice, practice, practice!

Man, that is a really good price for a set like that. I wish I got that. It comes with a case, strap, tuner, guitar (of course), and DVD. And it has a nice colour. TT-TT

Well, good luck on your road to being a guitarist! With a lot of dedication (yes, lots and lots of it! >_>) and patience, you soon will be able to play like a great! Well okay too far..but decent enough to show off. lol.

If you need help, ask around this forum. I'm sure the many talented guitarists will help.

To get started, learn some chords. And learn songs by playing the chords. You learn more and more chords on the way. It's just a suggestion, but I think that's how I started.

Yeah...again, good luck! ^^
