Ok... I got one question which might sound kinda stupid... :swt

How do I differentiate a tele from a strat??? Although I have been playing the guitar for quite some time... I have only played the acoustic... So can anyone help??? And What is the difference in quailty between the two??? I heard that strats are better... But WHY??? :swt

So can anyone help???Thanks...

one thing that im pretty sure is that
tele - single cut-away
strat - double cut-away
:swt

Also Tele's only have 2 pickups, one at the bridge and one at the neck. You'll realise that Strats look much much much more sexier than Tele's.

Also Strats give you a wider range of sounds since you have an extra pickup. Tele's are known for a twangy sound.

Depends what you're after. I'd recommend the Strat by far though. Its an all round instrument which can play almost anything. XD

I think there are a few telecasters that have more than two pickups. Some of only single coils or even w/ single coils and a humbucker pickup. I seen a few. Unless they're not real. . . haha. I seen one with three hums!!! Haha. Crazy.

Hm. My guitar friend tells me that telecaster is heavier and gives a 'beefier' sound than a Stratocaster. I'm not an electric guitarist, so I wouldn't know the differences between both.

nono its not a stupid question

the differences i can think of right now are:

solo
the stratocaster has two cutaways while the telecaster has only one - making the stratocaster a better guitar for high solos

tone
the stratocaster offers a greater variety of tones with the 5-position blade and 2 position push switch

the VG has knobs for master Volume, master Tone, tuning function control with 5 rotary positions), and mode control with 5-rotary modes)

the telecaster have the 5-position blades but lack some of the other parts

appearance
if you want a flashy guitar that will bring you LOTS of attention (trust me...LOTS of attention when you play it well and match your clothes with it) then the stratocaster will definetly deliver

i'll post more when i think of more differences

I guess right now I'm the only one that prefers a tele ove a strat. I'm not a really a Fender person, but if I had to pick bewteen the two models.....definitely a tele. I also think that YUI looks much cooler when she's rocking the tele, but that's just me :green

That's a Stratocaster, ie the cool looking good one XD

That's a Telecaster, ie the ugly one! XD

Clear differences. The shape of the body, shape of the headstock, number of pickups, situation and number of volume controls, the pickguard. Big big difference XD

GO STRATS!
is tele only limited to two pickups?
actually tele isin't ugly...is just that its bigger and duller than strat that makes it un-attractive

natsumi - May 14, 2007 01:23 PM (GMT)
no!!!!!!!!! tele is not the ugly ones!!!!!!!
everything that YUI uses looks nice to me XD
but still, i prefer a strat :P *runs away*

How cruel!! Hehehe... I think you can customize it to how ever mush pick ups u want.
But standard ones are 2 I think.

Ok... The strat looks very nice... But the tele is actually not bad...

Kouji - May 15, 2007 06:27 AM (GMT)
well, personally, I think that the tele is always overshadowed by the strat. ALWAYS. >.<

Both of them are great guitars~ just that the tele's look take a little time to get used to. I've played a tele personally, and hey, the fretboard feels great and the sound is nothing bad. It's what you can expect from a Fender, no? =)

But at the end of the day, it's all up to personal preference anyway. Hehe.
