Title: Buy Taiyonouta Eng Subbed DVD Online!
Description: You can finally buy it online now!

Flare - April 28, 2007 02:43 AM (GMT)
Well, as the topic goes. For those who are waiting (*wink* *wink* Reset-sama~) It's finally here.

You can now buy the DVD with English and Chinese subtitles online. This is the Hong Kong version, I just ordered mine, So I do not have much info on it. I'll give a complete review when I received mine. But that'll take some time cos since I'm not in a rush (I already have the Singaporean release) I picked economic shipping... I'm getting broke...

So, let's cut the chatters and show the link:

Midnight Sun (taiyonouta) on HMV.com.hk

The cover does look a fair bit more appealing than our Singaporean version one, haha. On second thoughts, it's got too much of Tsukamoto on the front cover.

Anyway, how does did you pay for the shipping?

I paid HK$39 for the shipping.... Hee... So summed up, the price is still okay... HK$128 about SGD$25

Assuming we use the cheapest shipping option, Standard International Airmail, which the shipping would cost HK$39 regardless of where in the world it's ship to. But God knows how long that'll take, and there's no tracking.

The DVD cost HK$89. So the total would be HK$128. Same as my order.

And that conversts to (drum roll)

about US$16.36.

Hahah, Yeah, DVDs are pretty affordable in this part of the world.

Flare... pliz give us the dvd review if u already receive yours coz i decided to buy it too..... =)

and btw, is it true that YUI will never star in any film / drama anymore?
coz i heard someone said so...

Helixius - May 16, 2007 04:20 AM (GMT)
Who said so?

cherii - May 16, 2007 07:10 AM (GMT)
I've only got the movie as well...however it looks very different to reset's. When I have the time, I'll SS the menu. I'm not sure whether its my DVD Player or the DVD itself, but at times during the first half of the movie, it would skip half a second. It's nothing major, and its still playable, which is the main thing. ^__^

??? Who said it???

I only heard that YUI will focus more on music cos thats still her main interest...

newtype06 - May 17, 2007 06:25 AM (GMT)
how are the subs and features?

Reset, you bought it too? you must have a lot of money...

that sucks, only the movie? i wanna see the deleted scenes and the making

the_alchemist - May 17, 2007 03:24 PM (GMT)
actually i heard it from someone in a local forum...
he said that YUI had an interview with MTV not long after Taiyou no Uta was released..
and in the interview YUI said that her chance starring in any movie or drama is almost less than 1%... :(
coz she want to focus on music more than anything...

if its true then i guess we should get taiyou no uta dvd
coz it would be a precious collection in the future... :D

Flare - May 17, 2007 03:24 PM (GMT)
Hahaha... If anyone actually looked, I was having computer problems, I just managed to bang it back together.

Edit:

Another update:

As Reset-sama had shown, the DVD menu.
The only 'extra' was the movie trailer

Audio and subtitle options available

Sample of how the subtitles looks on Windows Media Player

The subtitles are pretty decent, no typo or spelling mistakes like the Singaporean version. Yes... "My favourite Banna is food" is a correct translation of "suki wa banana tabe-mono desu"

(Please ignore the weird artifacts in the 2 subtitle samples, they are actually photos taken with a camera of my screen. I gave up looking for a screen capture too that does directX objects properly and VLC's screen caps doesn't have subtitles)

Reset - May 17, 2007 05:50 PM (GMT)
PowerDVD can do screen cap ;)

Arg, I'm so gonna shoot myself... I had a fresh install of my OS on a new HDD and I never bothered to install PowerDVD... But the version I have is from almost 6 years back...

Hahah I don't know what's the screen cap hotkey in media player classic.... :huhuhu

s0l1dsn8k3 - May 17, 2007 06:23 PM (GMT)
^ Ctrl-I ... or simply pause the video, and then go File-> Save Image.

BTW, to save screen caps in Media Player Classic, you must NOT have "Overlay Mixer" selected, under Options - Playback-> Output -> DirectShow Video

newtype06 - May 17, 2007 09:09 PM (GMT)
here's the link for the korean version:
