I've looked at your feedback and some of ya have suggested a game show for a YUI-cast! Well, the wait is over. I'm here to present you with 'Battle of the Guitarists' competition!

This forum is filled with plenty of talented guitarists and maybe, an unearthed diamond somewhere too! Who's the best among them? Well... this competition is aimed to do that!

For those of you interested, please sign up! I will be posting the format of this show soon so that all of ya will know how it goes..

Oh and before i forget, there will be 2 winners. Prizes are being decided but they will be excellent!

EDIT: RULES
Right, so all you guys need will be just a MIC to record your songs. The twist to it is that I'll give you the opportunity to edit these songs e.g you can play a bass/electric version of your song and then combine with the original OR you can add a background 'singer' if you're singing. It's kinda like how recording studios make the artiste sound better.. yeah you get the idea hopefully tongue.gif

Some rounds will have the option of you singing or no singing at all or optional.

For the rules, you each will have 10 days to come up with a song that's based on the theme.

If you can't meet the scheduled time, please do inform me via PM or email (fanaticalism@gmail.com) at least 2 days before the deadline. I'll work with you on how long you will need. However if you can't meet on the extension date, I'm sorry but to eliminate you as we can't hold everyone back and also I will have to piece everyones' clips together.

The next thing:
When you guys record, please introduce yourself and explain briefly about the song you're gonna play and how it relates to the theme applied. After which, your song follows.. and then you can choose to sign off anyway you want.

ohh, my cuz would've liked this,, he's started to write songs, and so far, they're great!

Alright, this is how the format will be like.

The number of participants joining will determine the number of rounds in this competition (so the more the merrier!). Each round will have a theme to it. Each contestant will then showcase their piece for a stated duration (e.g 3 mins, 4 mins etc)..

Just like American Idol/Survivor, the 'audience' will get a chance to cast their vote. The contestant with the lowest number of votes will be eliminated from each round. This will carry on until we have our final 2, where they will then battle it out for Best Guitarist on YUI-lover!

As for prizes... I have decided just what they are.

The runner up will receive YUI's next album, no matter when it will be released, on no charge!

The winner, though, will have a special prize. He/She will have a special privilege on selecting ANY AVAILABLE YUI merchandise! (of course i hope you don't request for a guitar - this is a budget competition XD). Photobook, YUI band score, anything!

So let me get this straight, we aren't doing anything original? If its all about picking a song and then playing it then I guess I'm out. I was hoping that it was going to be a "make a song" contest, the theme could be "make yui a song" haha. But yeah, oh well. Good luck to the contestants.

^no i did not state anything of that. Please do not assume so fast escapeandspiral. you all will be showcasing your original works throughout the various rounds with the themes in mind. i hope i clarified this doubt.

EDIT: yes some rounds you will have to sing.. but the aim of this competition is all about how well you play your guitar and not how good vocally you are. so i hope that doesnt deter you :P
