Title: Rikiachan for Firefox
davedim - February 22, 2007 09:13 PM (GMT)
This Firefox addon is so awesome that I thought I should share it with you guys.
Basically, it's a built-in Japanese-English dictionary for Mozilla Firefox.
But the best thing about it is that it shows you the meaning of a word when you move the cursor over it.
This way you can understand almost everything as long as you remember sentence structure and the basic elements of grammar.
And you'll start to remember the more commonly used words too.
This is a big help for learning Japanese.
You can get it here:

Get it. Now.
It's incredibly useful. I can attest to that fact. *nods* :green

I've been using this extension for a while. It helped me when I was doing the soft subtitles for the PVs when I need to re-word some of the English translations.
Btw, there was a new YUI Diary post yesterday. If you want to read it before Gin translates it, use this tool and you can kind of read and understand parts of it.

Looks like our dear YUI realised that yesterday was her debut 2nd year anniversary from the messages on 11 pm XD Apparently it was Nakanomori Band's 2nd year anniversary too
Back on topic, I use that too, when I'm too lazy to look up for dictionary :P

You need to install both Rikaichan and the Jap-Eng Dictionary.
Once installed and restarted Firefox, you have to toggle it by either going to the Tools menu, or Right-click on the page and select Toggle Rikaichan.

First of all, you can edit your own post and make changes or additions to your comment. You don't need to double-post.
The Rikaichan addon requires Mozilla Firefox. It works from Firefox verion 1.0 to 2.0.
I'm not exactly sure when you say "Mozilla version 1" if it is meaning Firefox version 1. If it is, then no matter which version of Firefox you are using, Rikaichan should work. If you are not referring to Firefox, then you need to download and install the latest Firefox version 2.0.0.2, and then install Rikaichan addon.

If you are using Mozilla Suite or other Mozilla based browsers other than Firefox, I don't think Rikaichan will work.
If you want to use Rikaichan, you must install Firefox.
If you do not wish to install Firefox, I suggest you use the site that Samart provide a few posts up. I used that site too before I found out about Rikaichan.
