Hello minnasan!Kits desu!Yorushiku onegai itashimasu. :wave .Couple of days ago when i was browsing the net, I happened to stumble across Japanesepod101.com.Im happy that i found this site coz i was desperately looking for a japanese learning/teaching site with clear comprehensive audio features.I wanted to learn japanese eversince I got hooked on anime's and ofcourse to YUI's music. My reason?Well i think this is the sexiest language ever!XD
Well its a Podcast, which really works for me coz i kinda dislike reading.. :swt I recommend this because it gives you what japanese learning books cannot. All you gotta do is download the lessons to your ipod and listen. Its very convenient coz you can learn japanese anytime anywhere. It kinda turns your ipod into a learning device..something like that.
There's so much lessons to listen which I bet you'll enjoy too. This podcast gives you keypoints and phrases in the easiest way possible. The teachers/voice actor/actress are extremely good, sometimes a lil funny but indeed very enjoyable to listen to.I like how they break down the words syllable by syllable that way the listeners can try how to pronounce the word correctly. They also give you tips and insight into the japanese cultures.
I know..Japanese is impossible.. :huhuhu ..but not ater i found this podcast. :P I believe this is definitely most of you guys are looking for..? Its easy to learn, fun, and and best of all..free! So c'mon and check it out!

Doozo!

thanks alot kits. i've addicted to japanesepod101 now! i think they have the most professional and fun way of teaching japanese. the voice actors are funny people too. :D

I had a listen to a few of the lessons on japanesepod101.com and found their lessons quite difficult to listen to. They talk fast, and don't leave enough time to practice the phrases. Although it may have just been the lessons I listened to.

I've been listening to the Pimsleur's Japanese series of audio lessons. In terms of vocabulary teaching, I like the way Pimsleur teaches. The only thing that could change is the choice to learn casual as opposed to formal Japanese.

I actually quite like japanesepod... they explain the terms quite well... and i like how they break up the words for you ^^... i started in the 'beginner's lesson' a couple months back (but haven't really kept with it... as i tend to enjoy listening to YUI on my way to school instead =P)

 Thanks a lot for the link! This ACTUALLY has people conversing! It's better to understand this way...and they're funny! XD I just listened to Beginner Lesson # 157: A Farming Family. Lol XD

"Grammar was something made to prevent me from graduating high school."

Very amusing. XD

Pronouncing's no difficulty...but grammar IS annoying sometimes. It's very helpful. Arigatou gozaimasu, kits(u)-san! :biggrin

Japanesepod101 teaches both formal and informal Japanese(even short messages that Japanese people used in email/SMS). Pimsleur maybe the best, but i kinda enjoy this one better. I'm only at Beginner lesson #14 though.

rubberduck - February 28, 2007 02:19 PM (GMT)
That's one thing that Pimsleur definitely lacks, informal Japanese..

nope.. you don't need to sign up.
in each of those boxes... under 'Free Content'.. just click on 'Audio' to download... or, if you just want to listen to it... click on 'Play in pop up'.
if you pay for an account.. you get the lesson notes... but i find that even without lesson notes... it's still pretty easy to understand.

No i dont think its hard to listen to..Maybe the lessons you have heard are from the intermediate lessons?Coz in intermediate lesson they sumtyms hardly speak english.I think you should listen first to beginner or newbie lesson or survival lessons..I think i heard a preview of pimsluer..But i didnt find it enjoyable to listen to..especially the teacher/voiceactor?'s voice is annoying.. chotto sumimasen :huhuhu
