iron_turkey - February 15, 2007 04:57 AM (GMT)
man I love Linkin Park and Fort Minor.. i know a lot of people say Fort Minor sucks, but I think they're really good B)

Just that one is mixed hip hop and hard rock.. the other one is plain rock.. I don't see whats wrong with Fort Minor!! LOL mike is still in it.. :weirdpc

anyway thats just my point of view.. what about you people?

and again.. I'm loving your picture.. it is such a pretty picture

cloudscream - February 15, 2007 05:17 AM (GMT)

LP's new album will be coming out hmm..not sure... the guys on the LP forums say April, May or June.

LP has not stated a release date yet. But they are already doing some finishing touches on the album.

It's about time someone's made an LP topic thread here!!! :)

LINKIN PARK is my all-time #1 favorite band (and has been since they released Hybrid Theory back in 2000)!!!! :D

I have all their albums (including Reanimation, LIVE IN TEXAS, and the Jay-Z/LP mash-up), their DVDs, their original Hybrid Theory EP (the one with the baby on the cover), and all their LPU fanclub CDs. :)
Not to mention owning posters, t-shirts, their FROM THE INSIDE art book, etc. Pretty much whenever LP releases something, I have to get it!!

Plus, I've been a part of LINKIN PARK street team since the METEORA days. Distributing sampler CDs and stickers to whomever.

AND, out of the many celebs/professionals (in the film and music industries) that I've been given the pleasure of meeting and talking to in my life, I'll always cherish when I met DJ Joe Hahn, and talked with about movies for half an hour. :D

I once went to three Linkin Park concerts in less than a year: the LPU concert (a week before METEORA was released), the Summer Sanitarium tour (with Metallica, Limp Bizkit, Deftones, and Mudvayne), and their METEORA World Tour (with Story of the Year, Hoobastank, and P.O.D.).

So, I'm dying to go one of their concerts!!

As for their new material... well, they've officially announced their new single will come out in March, but their album is slated for either an April or May release. And for those that don't know, they're completely changing their style. They no longer wanted to be associated as a rock-rap band (or a nu-metal band). I'm a little worried about it, but I still have confidence that it'll be a great album.

cherii - February 15, 2007 09:45 AM (GMT)
I wouldn't consider myself a fan, but I do like a few of the songsd I've heard from them. At the moment though, I'm going to be sticking to Asian songs and maybe some Western songs. Nothing too heavily influencing at the moment. It's just so new to me...Asian music and stuff. But when I was younger, I was a fan.

blue cat - February 15, 2007 09:52 AM (GMT)
Also, I too really like Fort Minor. When I first heard The Rising Tied, I didn't like it that much. But I kept on listening to it and WOW, it's actually pretty damn good!! My favorite tracks would have to be:

-The Hard Way
-Where'd You Go
-Believe Me
-Kenji
-High Road

I'm really anxious to hear Chester's solo album (which has been delayed, I think till next year). For those who don't know, his solo name is Snow White Tan. ;)

As for my TOP 10 LINKIN PARK SONGS (not including their remixes or collaborations like the songs with Jay-Z, Handsome Boy Modeling School, or the Xecutioners). So pretty much my favorites from both Hybrid Theory, METEORA, and any of their unreleased tracks on their LPU CDs.

1. My December
2. In The End
3. Numb
4. Faint
5. Somewhere I Belong
6. Forgotten
7. Breaking The Habit
8. With You
9. Pushing Me Away
10. Dedicated

cloudscream - February 19, 2007 04:57 AM (GMT)
^^ someone i can relate to. :D

i also like Fort Minor. Mike Shinoda is a genius. He has some connection to YUI 'coz Mike's half Japanese.

I like the idea of LP's change in music style and their discarding of the nu-metal sound. Maybe they're like Korn and other nu-metal bands in their earlier days, but Linkin Park is a unique band and they will prove in their next album that they are not caged in the nu-metal genre. I wish them success in their next record. :)

They gave as the nu-metal sound, hip hop, electronica, alternative rock, Mike's brilliant rhymes and Chester's angsty screaming. Now they're going to show their fans, music lovers and critics what they are really made of. hahah! XD

[LP] rules forever.

nataliejwong - February 19, 2007 05:02 AM (GMT)
Yep. Their music sound nice. Mike Shinoda! He went to design school... majored in graphic design too.

cool thing about linkin park is that their music can stick to you forever
i haven't heard any of their songs in ages, but when any of their songs suddenly pops out on the raido, i can still remember every detail of that particular song, that's the impact they've had on me

kh7yusuke - February 19, 2007 02:14 PM (GMT)

ayo23 - February 19, 2007 10:41 PM (GMT)

Ty_Sylicus - February 20, 2007 03:13 AM (GMT)
Linkin Park is hands down my favorite American Rock Band! :guitar B)

I've been a fan since I heard "Crawling" on the radio way back in the day! It's true, LP music really does stick with you forever and ever.

Fort Minor is amazing! The songs are really great, and the lyrics so well written! My hat is off to Mike Shinoda! *bows* ^_^

Blue! So you're a HUGE fan eh? That's great! :D Now we can all start a Linkin Park / Fort Minor fan club on YLr!

cloudscream - February 20, 2007 04:19 AM (GMT)
^^ i want that! a LP fan club in YLr!

linku - February 20, 2007 04:46 AM (GMT)
LP is awesome! I love their collaberation with different music styles and it makes you enjoy every kind of taste. Mike Shinoda is awesome =D XD And Chester has this unique voice where it's almost like you can hear two or three voices in that one sound.

They write great songs. XD

cloudscream - February 20, 2007 05:10 AM (GMT)
[LP] is really into music and innovation. They're not just a rock band. They're all over the place, and they have a diverse field of music styles. I like that very much! :)

LP's music is so contagious, even if you're not a fan of theirs, you'll get hooked up on their music easily.

It's pretty late right now and I should be asleep... but I just wanted to let those who don't know yet that LINKIN PARK's new single and music video "What I've Done" is officially OUT!!!!! :) :D

A few hours ago, I purchased the music video at the iTunes store (for $1.99) and since then, I've watched it again and again, and well... again.

The song is AWESOME!! It's definitely different, a more mature and stronger sound by LP than ever before. But, it definitely DOES sound like a LINKIN PARK song. I'm sure the song and the video is gonna start floating around everywhere online now. So check it out!!!

Alright, now it's time for me to sleep.

Anyone here part of the LPU?
And, any YUI-LOVERs here a part of either the offline/online LP Street Team? :)

For me, YES on both. Proud member of the LPU since the LPU v.1, and proud offline street team member since around the time "Meteora" was going to be released. :biggrin

speedphantom - April 4, 2007 04:08 AM (GMT)
I'm a big LP fan!! :D Listened to their stuff too much that I had to stop or I'd get sick of them.

I can't wait for the new album. I hope they keep their melodic yet heavy sound otherwise they'd they be another one of those loud trashy metal bands to me.

They won't be another loud trashy metal band, I guarantee you.

Why?

Cuz they've ditched the whole rock-rap, nu-metal image completely!! They said they never intentionally wanted to be grouped in that genre of music. And so, they're changing their style with this album; re-creating their image. With "Minutes to Midnight", their music will have a direct influence of punk and hip-hop, and a touch of classic rock. ;)

The band has said that though their sound will sound VERY different from their first two albums, and it might even confuse people, you'll still be able to tell that it's Linkin Park. :)

speedphantom - April 4, 2007 08:28 AM (GMT)
Wow........

I just listened to it on Youtube and I absolutely love the song. Its really gentle, I was surprised since I expected something like QWERTY.

I can't wait for their new album!!! XD

Cloudx7 - April 5, 2007 07:44 PM (GMT)
yeah, i love this song as well!! i've been listening to it for like the entire day so far

Anyway , LP will released their new album "Minutes to Midnight" on May.

I've see the new Single PV "What I've Done".
Waw, Chester voice are very amazing when singing.

speedphantom - April 14, 2007 02:58 AM (GMT)
Haha, the video's great! I really like the message they are putting across. Very political.

They all look cool in their black shadowy clothing XD

LP is the most frustrating to sing since the verses are manageable then Chester goes into his high voice which is about 5 octaves out of my range XD

Hanai - April 21, 2007 02:36 PM (GMT)
Hey , my friend got the new song of LP again.
This is one on their single.

I forgot the title.

Still wait for the new album! May 15th

AeroStatic - April 29, 2007 05:59 PM (GMT)
Yeh I like LP a lot too. My first song I heard of them was crawling, and after hearing that it got my interest. Now I still listen to their songs. But as said before: No one to beat YUI so far!
