新しいページがありますよね!「Staff Report」と呼びます!すばらしいですね!リポートのスタッフをここにポストします!

We've got a new page on YUI's website! It's called "Staff Report", and apparently it's a blog for people who work behind the scenes for YUI. Two entries have already been posted. I shall do my best in translating!

Staff Report

Tokyo PV Filming

We filmed YUI's "Jacket scenes" for a long while without a break.
At the same time we completed the planning stage fully.
Last year, we shot the PV over two days.
On the first day we shot in a city studio, and on the second day, under the cold wintry sky, we filmed at a train station, as well as inside a train.
While we were filming, YUI-san's breath became white as snow.
Now we'll give you a few pictures from the film shooting:

1: This is the studio where we filmed YUI singing in her room. In the morning, the sun warmed up every part of your body. While waiting between shoots, YUI-san dozed off a bit...
user posted image

2: Here YUI goes over the PV with the director. With YUI's help we had a lot fun and made good progress at the same time.
user posted image

3: When we filmed this scene it was close to twilight. The filming took place on the studio's roof. The evening light was incredibly beautiful, but we expected it to get frigid very quickly...which it did.
user posted image

4: As a result, YUI went over to one of our studio lights. She said it was "Veeeery waaarm" under the lights...for some reason.
user posted image

5: These pics are from the second day. On this day we filmed the scene where YUI waits at the train station very early in the morning. Unfortunately, it was commuting time at the station. There were a bunch of people heading for work or school on the station. We watched them closely while shooting, and made some good progress.
user posted image

6: This pic shows us filming the first scene of the PV. We all got a weird feeling while filming it...
user posted image

7: And here we have the scenes inside the train! We had to film the scenes on the train while it was running. There was only one train, and the train stopped at every station, so there were a lot of people using the train, getting on and departing...
user posted image

8: That's a nice face on YUI... No matter where YUI-san is, she's always thinking, you know?
user posted image

And now the Tokyo PV is finished!

YUI-san was always seemed to try to express a lot of feeling in her movements and actions. Everytime she was filming, she was always at her best. We finished updating the website easily, and we're looking forward to what's around the next corner with YUI!

Designing and Shooting the Tokyo CD Jacket Pics"!

Hey everyone! Did you like the Tokyo PV?
In this first entry of the Staff Diary, we'll be showing you some memorable "Tokyo Jacket Pictures"! After you see these, why don't you watch the PV again? Who knows? You might enjoy it more!
With that, here are some pics:

1: The weather was great on this day. We started the photo shoot on a rooftop very high up, almost close to the blue sky!
user posted image

2: While waiting for instructions, YUI-san chatted with Make-up-san! (The Make-up artist! :P )
user posted image

3: Here we went back down to ground level, and in this pic the camera man and YUI-san go over the photos together.
user posted image

4: In this cut...I think they're shooting the jacket photos for the CD...
user posted image

5: Here we are on a bridge...
user posted image

6: Yup, this is how we shot the Jacket pics...
user posted image

And this entry's finished!

Whew! That was a lot of work! I'm off to Psychology. じゃね!

AditZ - February 1, 2006 07:19 PM (GMT)
Ah nice! I was just waiting for the translation and now you came up with them.

Thanx a lot! ;)

やった!僕のスピーチのグレードは「A」でした!そして、2つの新しい「Staff Report」はポストされました!今度は、アルバムの取材です!ありがとうございます、YUIさん達!今訳します!

Two new Staff Reports have been posted on YUI's website.

200 Guitars! (2/2/2006)

On February 22, YUI's debut album, "From Me To You," will be released. To coincide with the album, we wanted to make something that all record stores in the country selling the album could put up on display or sell.

And that is:

A Guitar Autographed by YUI-san herself!

In these pictures, YUI is signing the guitars. It took her about 90 minutes to sign all 200 of them.
user posted image

You may say to yourself: 'All the record stores in the country? But there are only 200 guitars?" That's true. Not every store will get one. That's why we have these pictures! If you happen to spot one of these guitars on release day, you'll be able to remember where they came from!

Album Coverage (2/2/2006)

YUI's Official Website, Yui-Net.com, has a new layout! Thanks for all the posts on the BBS! YUI read them and enjoyed them quite a lot!

All righty. Yesterday, February 1st, was Album Coverage Day! Sadly, most of the coverage pictures cannot be posted just yet, but I'll put up some pictures of how YUI uses her spare time...

YUI Free Time Killing Method #1: Playing the Guitar!
She plays the guitar so well...
user posted image

YUI Free Time Killing Method #2: Staff Meetings!
This is a very important staff meeting...NOT!!
user posted image

Moving on, the last place we visited on 'Album Coverage' was the music store "Fender", downtown. There were tons of guitars there.
See? YUI's eyes are spaarrkling....
user posted image

The staff in the store let her play an electric guitar, using an acoustic base for the first time, and she met a new 'akogi' [no idea what an 'akogi' is, but I assume it's a staffer at the store].
user posted image

Hey, everybody in the store woke up!

Looks like we've got another Staff Report. This time it talks about YUI's upcoming tour and the previous post about the autographed guitars. Enjoy.

Canal City Live (2/4/2006)

Tickets for YUI's "First 7 street 'LIVE LIFE LOVE'" tour went on sale today! Although this is YUI's first tour, I think we're gonna put on an awesome performance! YUI's looking forward to it as well! We're thinking up several ways to spice up the tour, like allowing the fans to choose which songs they want to hear.

The tour is still well over a month away. Now, about the 'Live' performance...YUI's latest live performance took place on the 28th at Fukuoka's "Canal City" Store. To everyone who, due to distance or plans, couldn't attend, all I can say is...I'm sorry? But I've got some nice pictures today, and they're bigger than usual. I hope they can adequately express the great atmosphere at that performance.
user posted image
Thank you all for attending, and the big crowd too!
user posted image
[あら! 本当に大きい来場やなあああ。。。]

Aaand, um, about the last entry concerning the guitars...there were a ton of posts on the message board asking if the guitars were for sale. I'm sorry. My description wasn't clear enough. Sorry for the confusion. The guitars aren't for sale: they're for decoration. They're for the music stores' front displays only. I'm very sorry, but they aren't for sale. Buut, YUI thought about you all while she was autographing the guitars...soo...keep looking for the real thing!

Yay! Nice attendance at that live. I hope the tour goes well. ^_^

Another Staff Report, showing off the finished album!

Sample Album! (2/8/2006)

Just to promote the album a little more, we've got a finished copy of the album to show off to you!
user posted image

This is what's gonna be waiting for you on release day! Only two weeks to go before you can buy it! You know you can't wait...

When YUI got her copy of the album, she didn't say anything, but she did have this deep, silent expression on her face. She opened up the case and started playing the CD, after which she studied the cover carefully once more.

YUI with her copy of the album!

Melodix Performance! (2/13/2006)

YUI has performed once again on Melodix!
user posted image

Following her trend in December (Life) and January (Tokyo), YUI's done a nice February performance for us. And this time...

The performance is Merry・Go・Round, from her first album "From Me To You!"

This is her first "Red Telecast" Performance. :)
user posted image

Due to the graces of Melodix's producer, I've been allowed to post some pictures from the recording on Staff Report! And before the event's been broadcast...(tears of joy) Thanks very much, Producer-san!

Anyway, the pictures are somewhat small, but what they show and express more than compensates for their size!

All you Kantou* Fans, you'd better watch this when it airs! The broadcast will be on Thursday, February 18, at 3:20a-4:14a. That's late, so be sure to stay up!

*Kantou is the eastern half of Japan, and it includes Tokyo.

Spot CM (2/11/2006)

As we get closer to Album day, YUI's been working on the movie. They've been filming outside. I here it feels like spring. YUI's facial expressions are always so gentle and beautiful...

All righty, this entry's about the album's commercial Spot on CM. There pics show YUI recording the narration:
user posted image

All they had to do to finish the spot is to add YUI's narration to the commercial itself. And now it's done!
user posted image

Look for the spot on TV as album day approaches! Thanks everyone!

user posted image
The guitar that she signed...
user posted image
Live during the program!

We're gonna give away one of these guitars to a very lucky person.
*This guitar is the same model as the one YUI uses to play. Fender prepared a very special guitar for this little event. Thanks, Fender!

Saa, how and when does one get into this little contest of ours?
Well...on February 22, and we all know what day that is...
It's the day "From Me To You" goes on sale!
After you've bought the album and have listened to it, on February 22, post your comments, opinions, and criticisms of the album on the message board! Only post your feelings on the message board.
We'll select one of the people who posts and send them this guitar!

That guitar, err...this guitar!
user posted image
That's your present!

Furthermore, for those who don't get this guitar, we'll be giving away, to ten other people, Fender T-shirts!
user posted image
YUI-san her self has handled these T-shirts. :P

Only post your "applications" for the guitar on the forum on Album Day. It's only a few days away!

The one below it was just reminding people about the Rocks on TV program. We all know about that already, so I'm not gonna translate it! :)

It's Album Day in Japan! Yup, people are already buying the album and posting their opinions on the message boards, which I've been monitoring this past morning off and on. Virtually all of them are extremely positive! There was even one person who posted at exactly midnight, commemorating the day. Some crazy people out there. :P

We won't see the Oricon results for the first day until tomorrow morning, but we've already got a special Album Day Staff Report entry!

We've waited so long for this day!
Copies of the album started arriving in the stores yesterday. Looks like there were a lot of people waiting for them!
Have any of you seen one of YUI's autographed guitars yet?

Anyway, yesterday YUI performed on MTV's "M-Size Program."
Many thanks to everyone at the program!
user posted image
This time YUI sang 2 songs: Life and Tokyo.
user posted image
FYI, the guitar she used in this performance is the new guitar we posted about on Staff Report a little while go. This performance was its debut. :)
Nobody's really used to this guitar yet, and these small pictures sure don't help. *laughs*
The tour starts in March! Everybody get ready!

[BTW, two more of YUI's tour spots have sold out, this time in Sapporo and Nagoya. That makes 5 out of 7 spots sold out. Go YUI! ^_^ ]

The "M-Size" program will broadcast on Friday, March 10, from 6-7pm. There will be an encore too, so no excuses! Watch it!

One Year! (2/23/2006)

Today, February 23, is the first anniversary of YUI's debut! We managed to release YUI's first album just inside her first year! Ha! But it's all thanks to you guys! To our 2nd year, which has already started, I might add.

Today we had an anniversary/album launch celebration party. Afterwards we had some free time, so once again we checked out the local stores.
user posted image
We went inside several stores and met a woman who was buying the album!
YUI had a happy look on her face during the entire spectacle. She gave her thanks to everyone in the store, and she signed the store's YUI display as a token of gratitude.

Two new Staff Report's and a new YUI radio! From what I understand, the Radio program is going to be a regular thing starting this week, and it'll updated every week between Wednesday and Thursday. There will be a special YUI Radio event on the 15th of March, during which YUI will announce the winners of the Guitar contest. It'll air at 8:00am on the East Coast, for those of you in the US. Be sure to tune in if you can. :)

Hiroshima Campaign (3/2/2006)

We've finished up the tour in Hiroshima! YUI did her live performance in the "Shareo Satellite Studio," in the evening, playing "Feel My Soul" herself. A lot of people lined up outside to watch.
user posted image
There were people of all ages out there, as you can see. From little children to businessmen...wait...businessmen? Shouldn't they have been at work? ...well, anyway, thanks for showing up, everybody!

When YUI finished her performance, there were rows and rows of people there waiting to greet her outside. When she came out of the studio, it was like she was graduating from a university and all her classmates were sending her off. I was quite moved, and so was YUI: her face was beaming.

After that, we all had some free time before the next Radio brodcast thingie, so YUI decided that we go try out the local cuisine!
user posted image
This was YUI's first real visit to Hiroshima, by the way.
user posted image
Oh, this stuff was so thick and juicy that we wanted to get some pictures for you to salivate over, so here they are. In this one you can see the manager's mad cutting skillz in action.
user posted image
Let's see if you can answer this question of mine:
In the picture below, which okonomyaki is YUI eating?
user posted image
There might be a hint in the Diary...

After we'd gorged ourselves on okonomiyaki, we rushed over to do yet another live radio performance. A lot of schools had graduation ceremonies on March 1st, so YUI decided to play Tokyo for them on this program.
user posted image
And with that, we finished our Hiroshima Campaign without a hitch.
The next time YUI will be in Hiroshima will on her first Tour's 2nd Stop! Be sure to be at the Club Quattro in Hiroshima on the 24th, where YUI will be performing live! It's only a little while loonger!

YUI kept getting more and nervous as the program went on, but she did a great job anyway, as to be expected. She played Tokyo, by the way.

YUI's gonna be doing a lot of radio performances from here on out, so everybody who happens to be the area, tune in! Thanks!

Tsukamoto Takashi-san's Appearance in 'H' Magazine!

Both Tsukamoto-san and YUI-san are starring in [Taiyou no Uta], YUI's first movie that will release on June 17 in theatres in Japan. And they both will be appearing in 'H' magazine together very soon.

Ever since they started filming, both Tsukamoto and YUI have looked a bit...nervous.
user posted image
These pictures were taken during the photoshoot for 'H' in Daigan Mountain Park. It was reaaally cold when they started taking pictures, but eventually the two stars came around and brightened up a bit.
user posted image
Those two had very different moods in their invidual photos. I was able to snap some of these cool shots for your viewing pleasure.

A lot of the people in the park..."helped" warmly in covering this little event of ours, as did a lot of the Staff. Thanks for "helping out," everyone! :D

I'll be sure to tell you which upcoming issue of 'H' YUI will appear in as soon as I know it, even if it means having to chase you to the ends of the earth! So keep your eyes open! :)

Sendai Live Radio Performance

We had a big YUI event in Sendai!

We arrived at Sendai in the evening and had to go straight to the studio to do a live radio performance for Date FM. When that was done and over with, we went to the best store in Sendai: "HMV." A lot of folks were waiting for YUI when we got there.
user posted image
The area in front of the stage was already filled with people when YUI began checking the stage equipment.
user posted image
YUI did her best to live up to the fans' expectations. She made some cheerful chit-chat with the fans and played four songs for them. They all did their best to sing along to each one.
user posted image
Speaking of doing one's best, YUI did exactly that after she sang, signing as many singles, albums, or autographs as she could. There were a lot of happy fans that night.
user posted image
We finished the HMV event and went straight back to Date FM to do another live radio thingie. When that was over, we took a well-deserved break and went out for Yakiniku! [I'm writhing in envy. I had some during my trip to Japan. It was...Yakiniku is one of the best foods ever...]

Our second tour performance was at Hiroshima.

The weather was perfect that day. Maybe it was a sort of divine blessing commemorating YUI's last performance as an 18-year-old. Whatever it was, it sure helped us out.

We finished rehearsing and the event began!
user posted image
As soon as the live started, YUI, the band, and the audience became one. They kept the the whole "Rock and Roll" atmosphere up from beginning to end. And just as YUI started playing an encore for the fans, something happened! It was quite a surprise!
user posted image
Right after YUI started playing her first encore song, we played a Happy Birthday Intro over the speakers and brought out a cake! YUI was speechless. Everybody joined in singing Happy Birthday to her!

After the performance was over, YUI read a ton of letters and messages from the fans congratulating her on her birthday. She also got a lot of fan presents. She had a hard time digesting all the encouragement and joy she felt.
user posted image
Thank you all for the Birthday messages and your support! And remember that the tour's still on!

Moushiwake arimasen, mina-san. The power adapter for my computer is coming either today or tomorrow, preferably the former, so by then I'll be back with you all full-time. Gin's Staff Report feature will return soon! :P

However, there was something in YUI's latest diary entry that I could not ignore. "It's Happy Line" has been slightly remixed and will be part of the upcoming "Good-bye Days" single. You can here the first third or so of the song on the latest volume of YUI Radio, near the end. :)

Staff Report translation coming in a few hours (university computers don't co-operate with Japanese text very well, but it's coming!), but I'll give you the big news before that. The Good-bye Days Jacket pics have been finished. They did the photo shoot a few days ago, and you can see pics from the photo shoot in the Staff Report section of the website. This means we should see an update of the website very soon! :) Yay!

On another note, I have moved my blog to http://enishi.wordpress.com. This is my main blog from now on, and I'll be posting YUI stuff up there along with other things. Enjoy.

Good-bye Days Jacket Pics

This morning started off the last third of the month! We went to Hayama to shoot the Jacket pics for the next single.

We left Asato and started shooting at a long, brown-colored beach in the morning.
user posted image
It was quite cold...
user posted image
There was a break during the shooting in which YUI went off to the seaside.
user posted image
Ah! YUI! Stop that! It's Dangerous! *cries*
While that was going on the weather started to deteriorate, and rain came falling down in little drops.

From noon onwards we went indoors to finish shooting. The building we were in looked over the seaside.
user posted image
This is a scene at a window that links YUI to her movie's main character, "Kaoru Amane."
user posted image
We took a lot of pictures for the CD jacket as the day went on.
user posted image
Just wait a little while! The Jacket and the website update is coming!
user posted image
By the way, I've watched YUI's movie, "Taiyou no Uta," several times, and every time I do I cry. *sniffs*

Well, see you all later.

NUDE

At least, that's the name of the Osaka TV program that YUI starred on.
user posted image
We're swamped with all these coverage events for Good-bye Days and Taiyou no Uta, YUI's next single and first movie that'll be releasing in June. YUI's been doing all sorts of magazine interviews, but it's been a while since she was on TV.
user posted image

YUI talked about her first live performance in Osaka and how she forgot about (somebody help me out. What's "MC?" :swt ) stuff during the performance. She got all worried, but the audience helped her out in remembering.
Hey, isn't this a spoiler for the movie?

Thanks to your constant, ferverous support, YUI Radio has been adding tons of new listeners each episode. And now, YUI Radio is growing up!
user posted image

On the next episode of YUI Radio, we will have a special guest performance for you all! Now I know a lot of you probably know about this already, since we've already posted this announcement on the website's homepage, but this is just another friendly reminder from us staff guys!

Today's announcement isn't very specific.

We might post a more detailed message about this upcoming event in the middle of next week. However, the event itself will be happening on YUI Radio!

The rest of the staff and I are very very excited about this. And you should be too. :)

All right! Another Staff Report, cross-posted at Blue Wind.

Off on a trip (5/19/2006)

It has begun. We're off on the movie tour.

I haven't been getting enough exercise lately…
user posted image
So I've brought this little guy with me on the trip. ;)
user posted image
We didn't have a lot of time to rehearse at this stop, but YUI's skills are always so much better than we think! *laughs*

Oh, YUI got a great reception on stage! Just before the lights went up I managed to snatch a picture of her and the director's silhouette…

This Father's Day poster was in our hotel in Osaka. It reads: 'For Father's Day, Send Him Flowers."
user posted image
I took this photo because it the only flowers in the advertisement were sunflowers, just like all the sunflowers in Taiyou no Uta!

By the way, Kishitani Gorou-san, one of the actors in the movie, took her father to see it. That was nice of her.

I really want people to see the movie with those who are important to them.

I forgot to post this here! Moushiwake arimasen. :swt

YUI by the seaside!

YUI went to Shounan!

This town was the filming location for Taiyou No Uta! YUI decided to revisit the place since it was on the way to the Hiratsuka stop on the movie tour. While in Shounan, YUI appeared on Shounan Beach FM Radio.
user posted image
The guys on the radio show were great! What's more, they had their own satellite studio on the beach, which gave us Staff a chance to relax for a little while.
user posted image
After the program had finished up, YUI talked to a local fisherman and decided to go out fishing! 80 We'd never seen YUI interested in this before, but we were inspired a little bit by it, as always.
user posted image
The single and the movie are coming up fast, and the person most excited (and anxious) about it all is YUI! Well, we staff might be too…;)

Aaaaaa!! It's a HUGE day for YUI! We've found so much Good-bye Days stuff in stores!

Following her own little habit, YUI decided to autograph this exhibit!

Here's YUI with her special pen!
user posted image
Then she signs it…

Like this…
user posted image
And she decides to take her own pictures to celebrate! *laughs*
user posted image
And it's all thanks to you guys. YUI's said that so many times I've lost count. ;)

As always, keep posting your thoughts about Good-bye Days on the Message Board!

We're at #3 on the charts! Yay! Thanks!

Understanding "XP" (6/19/2006)

Hey everybody! Both the single and the movie are out there now, and you've all done a great job supporting us! We thank both YUI and you from the body of our hearts!

In this entry I wanted to talk about Amane Kaoru and the sickness she lives with in Taiyou no Uta.

After all this time, we've slowly realized that there are a lot of people out there who are living the same life Amane Kaoru is, only it's not just fiction in a movie, it's reality. That fact has caused us to think about and learn about a lot of things in life.

If we hadn't worked with the movie, if Good-bye Days had never been made, we probably would've gone on living without knowing "XP" even existed.

I doubt we can do much for the people with this disease, but even so, I want to express my sincere sympathy and my gratitude to all those people, along with everybody who has seen the movie so far, and with those who will see it. Thank you very much.

For those who want to know how to recognize and diagnose "XP": http://www.geocities.jp/xp_shomei/

A Satellite Studio Radio Performance (6/29/2006)

Now that both the single's debut and the movie's release in theatres have gone swimmingly, YUI's been appearing a lot on the radio lately!

The other day she was on "Spainzaka" and Maihama's "Ikspiari." A lot of people were there to watch her, as you can tell from the pictures:

This one is from "Spainzaka":

And this is from "Ikspiari":

The whole crowd was smiling. Everybody. And all of us staff members were in the crowd. Somewhere. We all felt pretty good when YUI said: "I've got a lot of people supporting me, that's for sure."

We all want to share our feelings, thoughts, and experiences with YUI and all you fans from now on.
Next week we'll be popping up in Osaka, Nagoya, Fukuoka, and other places. If you happen to see us, come by and say hi!

A Surprise Radio Appearance--In a School! (6/29/2006)

Hey guys! Have you seen the movie yet? If you haven't, remember to see it this weekend with the people you're closest to!

Anyway, YUI had a surprising experience not too long ago: She appeared on a nationally syndicated radio program: "Yamada Hisashi's Radio Unlimited Digital Cross!" (rather long name for a program :? ) In Sapporo's Kiyoharu High School, no less!
user posted image
As you can see in the pic below, the students were pleasantly surprised as well: they gathered around YUI like flies during the broadcast.
user posted image
After the broadcast, YUI went to the badminton club for the day, and (guess what), she played badminton! She was quite refreshed by it.

If we get another chance, we'd love to participate in a project like this again. And there are so many places throughout Japan we want to see and people we want to meet! Keep on supporting us, everyone!

More theatre stops for us! (7/7/06)

YUI's been busy this week! We've been visiting a lot of places all around Japan to promote the movie. We've been to theatres in Fukuoka, Osaka, Kyouto, and Nagoya so far.
user posted image
Every theatre we've visited so far has been great. The staff and the guests have all given us warm, hearty welcomes.
user posted image
The staff hung up a lot of posters for YUI and the Director to see. We all were touched by it.
user posted image
YUI and the Director thanked all the guests from the bottom of their hearts. So many times, in fact, that I think their mouths were about to fall off. The guests gave them both a bunch of bouquets and letters. Thanks, you guys!
There are a lot of sad moments in Taiyou No Uta, but everyone is supporting the movie so much. The outpouring of thanks and appreciation at all the stage events during the past week have been tremendous. It's been one moving week, I'll say!

I hope all you people who haven't seen the movie yet will go see it with the people you love. Oh, and it's the height of the rainy season, but it keeps getting warmer and warmer. Anyway, thanks for all your support and appreciation!
