hey guys i didn't know where to put this topic so i just posted it in the random chat. i was wondering if the bbs had a irc channel? it'd be a good way to chat in real time with everyone. sorry if one has already been created i made a chan on efnet called yui-lover i hope i don't make any admins mad with this post sorry if i did.

if you guys don't know much about irc it's a chat program. there are different irc programs the main one for windows is mirc for mac and linux users there is x-chat. once you download the program install it and run it. a dialog box will prompt you to insert a nickname and an alternative nick just enter whatever name you want. then in the server list you want to connect to the server efnet there should be a drop down menu to pick the server you want. after you are connected all you have to do is type in /j #yui-lover to join the channel. if you guys need any help trying to connect just reply here....i might put up some screen shots and the steps for connecting.

i'll set everyone as a OP so we all have equal power but if we decide to keep the chan we'll give the admins OP status and we can set regular users to +v. ok hope you guys enjoy chatting....lets try to get all the board members to join :toast

i always had problems with these kinds of chat things. >< when i go to the server list i dont see anything listed, its just blank. help?

ok i've come up with step by step instructions for installing mirc for windows. hopefully this is helpfull

1. first step push next


2. then push i agree



3. install on the main c drive


4. push next


5. push next


6. push next


7. install...i installed mine on D since i already have irc on C


8. check run irc


9. click continue


10. fill in your name and email and screen name


11. now on the menu on the left click server and scroll down the list until you find EFnet


12. now double click on the EFnet folder to expand the server list and click random server and click ok


13. now that you have connected and are ready to join the channel type in yui-lover in the channel field and click join


14. now you are in the channel :lovepc

I used to use mirc intensively few years ago (I even learn how to write scripts, etc.. that was the old days.) but I don't anymore and I won't unless I feel the need. =)

in step 4 did you install full with the server lists and everything else? you can also add the efnet servers if they are missing you can find those here http://www.efnet.org/?module=servers

sorry i've been missing from the channel my isp has been pretty crappy for the past month with all its disconnects and time outs but i'm in there now. also if anyone has anymore questions i'll be logged in here and in the irc channel.

maybe we can this as one of the communication tool, so that we can go spam YUI's message board all at the same time lol XD When we have enough people, then I bet Sony staff will know the existence of this forum.
