New Line Cinema has bought rights to produce Battle Royale in the English language. Many fans of Battle Royale feel that this is wrong, due to the fact that Hollywood is slowly tearing Asian cinema away

I made the petition

No American Battle Royale

lol...seems they really like copying japanese movies.... would like to see the actors and actresses though first b4 making any decisions.... :P

but yea...they should stop turning good asian movies into american crap...

Really liked Battle Royale... Not the sequal that much though. I hardly doubt a US version would be a hit. Would basicly be all about adding as much blood as possible, even though the japanese version have alot of that already...

Battle Royale (1 ) is my favourite movie =3=...hollywood is going to make this into some "mediocre at best" teen horror movie.

....T3T...my day is ruineddddd.

yah...

it really sucks...

current movies that are being remade are...

Pulse (Kairo)and Grudge 2 (Ju-on), (which also is staring HK actor/singer/model Edison Chen), both great scary movies from japan

and The Departed (staring Matt Damon, Leonardo DiCaprio) which IS a remake of a HK movie Infernal Affairs (staring again Edison Chen, Tony Leung, Andy Lau) and one of the best movie ever in HK history

other HK movie remakes... The Eye is being remade and rumors having even jessica alba and tom cruise staring as the main characters...

This Article is a pretty good read about the American Remakes of Asian Films

yea...lol... i especially know they'll definetely destroy Infernal Affairs....

sigh...

seriously....why go through the trouble of remaking it...when it's the same piece of work?.... and heck, the remake is destroying a masterpiece.....

they should juz get the original movie over and throw some subs in or dub it and call it a day....

All I can say is that they'd better use hot japanese guys and girls, or the movie is nothing in America.
